Weirdly that winning pen might help Lautaro Martinez’s confidence which will be a huge boost to them. If he starts firing that will really help them.
After losing their first game to the Saudis, it’s starting to feel to me at least, like this WC might be written in the stars for Messi and Argentina.
Thing is they go into a semi final as pretty big favourites and as England found out 4 years ago, and Brazil today, Croatia are really difficult opponents. You're expected to beat them so the pressure is all on you.
Nah we're not. Holland don't have players like Bellingham, Foden, Kane, Mount, Rice, even their keeper made his international debut at the World Cup. Holland have a better defence than us but that's it. Gakpo is good but unproven outside of Holland. But it's the strength in depth we have but that puts us on another level to Holland.
Walcott filming from the team hotel during the Netherlands-Argentina game, check Caballero out in the background for the equaliser as well as for the winning penalty
Wahl was a wonderful writer and person. That's a terrible shock and an enormous loss. Seems likely to be natural causes, though; he mentioned having sought out medical attention earlier in the tournament because he had been feeling ill for some time: https://grantwahl.substack.com/p/world-cup-daily-day-22
Very sad news, but doesn't appear to be any suspicious circumstances. Typical trash from the Mail. RIP and condolences to his friends and family.
That's a terrible headline as it infers he died while detained whereas the detaining happened weeks ago by all accounts. Pathetic but hardly surprising given the source.

Match day! Feeling nervous already. Really hope we do ourselves justice and put in a performance, still may not be enough but would be disappointing to lose having not really given it a go. Come on England!
