Incidentally, I've never been a fan of GnR so I've no idea why that song is a bad example - apart from the fact that it's a cover.

Seriously, this is actually getting to hysteria levels in the press with stories every day or one sort or another.
It's a good job there's not a controversial tournament being held in a dictatorship who killed 6500 people to facilitate said tournament and are paying for attendance by giving fans different shirts to go round each game.

Well, obviously they're happy to have something to write about that isn't the politics of the situation. Transfer speculation is a staple diet of sports hacks, they can make up any wild story they like and never be called to account over it.
