(some of this information is courtesy of wikipedia) Forest are best known for the glory years under Brian Clough, in which they were league Champions in 1978 and European Champions two years running, in 1979 (after which they also won the Super Cup) and 1980. But they had their first taste of silverware way back in 1898, when they lifted the FA Cup. Their most recent major trophy was won in 1992, when they won the Full Members Cup with a 3-2 win over Southampton. In 1978, Forest defender Viv Anderson became the first black player to don the England shirt for a full international. Dev, what are ticket sales like for this game? I'm guessing it is keenly anticipated given the return of SC. Anyway, good luck for the game.
Being a few thousand miles away I don't know about ticket sales, but I would imagine SC's return might put 1,000 extra on the gate. It's one of those games we need to be winning at home so I reckon, all in all, it's going to be a pretty nervy atmosphere on the pitch.
It's one of those games that I'm looking forward to being at - so will be looking for a win or a draw! Not a sell-out in terms of tickets, but decent all the same.
It will be an ideal opportunity for Pompey to prove that they are better off with no manager than they were with SC!
I hope I won't! Have got my tickets for the Saints game as well so hoping my luck continues for a lot longer yet. I was reading a post on the Saints forum where they were being berated for not attending a match last week - one of the posters said every time he goes they lose, do they really want him to attend? It's nice to have the opposite effect. But be ready with tea and sympathy the day I experience my first loss.
Oh I had that problem that when I saw Saints they lost, but it was my shirt that was to blame! Once I bought a later model our form was much improved and has been sensational since I bought the latest replica shirt. There you are. I suppose the quality of the players and management have a minor effect as well, but it's mostly down to me
It is an interesting one. When an old manager returns often the team he has left prevails, however I just feel Forest will sneak it. People are saying Michael Appleton is going to be Portsmouth's new manager, any reaction. Great details Devon by the way .
3-0 oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah! Erik the Viking and the Ginger Ninja did well - Hendo kept a clean sheet. Little bit under the influence at the mo............ more tomorrow
