Well, you could say we all go back to the original matter formed in supernovas. Or even the hydrogen and helium created moments after the Big Bang. Or to Lord Frith, who created everything (including Himself).
Not sure how a joint Saudi-Qatar bid would work, but sounds like worst of both worlds. Still be owned by blood money, but without one country to be an advertisement for, there is no reason to invest silly money. So we're poor and owned by blood money.
Yesterday it was the Saudi-Qatari group ahead. Today it's the Germans. Presumably, the German group would be investors. Not blood money. Not state owned. Pretty much just more like FSG or a traditional ownership. We wouldn't get silly cheat-money, but nor would we have to worry about where our funding came from. Without knowing much about the group it sounds acceptable.
I read something about this yesterday and amongst the replies to the news was someone who said that he'd googled the richest people in Germany and apparently no Germans appear to be rich enough to buy us so it must be fake news.
Hmmm. A quick Google tells me that there are over a dozen Germans who have net worth over €10billion. So the person that replied didn't look very hard. I'm sure a handful of German billionaires (of which there are many) could all get together and chip in to buy the club.
It's just another example of someone writing something and stating it as fact when it can be easily checked. Unfortunately there are lots of people who will read random things like this and believe them to be actual facts. All that aside, I'm all for a poor German group buying us over the alternative reported candidates.
