Christine MCVie of Fleetwood Mac passed away earlier today 79 years old. RIP https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-63812952
I was a great fan of Fleetwood Mac and her death is a very sad moment. They were one of the best bands around and Christine McVie produced some of the finest vocals for the band that I remember. So sad, my thoughts go out to her family with the knowledge that the music world has lost one of the greats. I think I was at the right age to have seen some of the legends of the music world but sadly today is a reminder that so many greats have left us with more to come. R.I.P. Christine.
One of the great bands I never got to see. As a group, they provided a backdrop to much of my life in the late 60's, 70's and early 80's. R.I.P. Songbird
One of my favourite bands ever. I never get tired of the Rumours album - one of my favourite albums ever. McVie actually wrote and sung (with Buckingham) my favourite track on that album - 'Don't Stop' RIP
She was a great songwriter, musician and performer especially in what I call 'the real Fleetwood Mac days' with Peter Green RIP
Fleetwood Mac, great band and has been there through most of my life.. Rumours a classic album.. Sad news Christine MCVie passing.... RIP
Although married to John McVie, musically speaking I didn't realise she was involved with the band in the Peter Green days - you live and learn. Chrissie was the soul of the Mac through the 70's, and my heartthrob Stevie Nicks was the face. Fiesty setup all round and destined to break up, but what an epic legacy she's left in her music and that soulful voice.
Actually Frank, your prefix was/is my all time favourite writer/performer of the 70's. I didn't think she'd actually joined the Mac until after Green had left the band in a drug induced haze. She did a few sessions with her husband on the earlier stuff as Christine Perfect, but I don't think she joined as a full Mac member until later.
Cheers - must have been so brief I didn't notice Angie baby (now there's a song for you). Mind you, at that time I was at the age when you realise girls were different to boys and decided to pursue that interest.......
