I don't like this side of me, but I don't like Uruguay and especially Suarez. I'm enjoying his pain.

Nice to see them take defeat in such a sporting way. Manhandling officials.
Hope they get banned for the next WC

There we go. Uruguayan threatening all sorts to the officials especially after not reviewing a potential penalty for a foul on Cavani.

Have to say I would have given it but what do I know?

Got to love the naive, unbridled enthusiasm of both Japan and South Koreans.

Some superb climaxes to so many games. Hope the knock out games continue this trend.

2nd half Swiss v Serbs a bit of a damp squib.

Well we’re into the last 16. Who’s favourites then? Brazil for me

True but the end to the Brazil v Cameroon game was a bit of a doozie. Cameroon captain heads a superb winner. Already booked but takes off his shirt anyway, second yellow then red and smiles at the ref and everyone else as he trots off.

Then Guimares, I think, does a Lukaku and shoots over from 2 yards.

    This World Cup is crazy.

Anyone else think that Serbian side looked like a bunch of convicts recruited for the job?

You know there are some footballers I could watch every day and not fail to be overawed by.

In the 70’s it was Cryff. In the 80’s Maradonna. It goes on but Lionel Messi is just extraordinary. He has been unbelievable in this WC. A sheer joy to watch him. 35 and he’s got the energy of someone half his age.

    Just brilliant<applause>

Got it on in the background.
England rode their luck in the first 35 mins, now sitting pretty.

Thought there might be a couple upsets in the knock out stages given the group stages.
Don't think anyone won all 3 games did they?

Mbappe, Giroud, Griezmann and Dembele will ask a few more questions. 56 years may extend to 58.

Right, being the sometimes pedantic a***wipe that I am, I will point out that Mr Barrett was known as Shaky not Shakie.
    It's a Penarth thing.
