It's when some people seem to have it in for a player. It's all very well saying someone's having a bad game and should be subbed and moaning if he's caught offside for the tenth time in ten minutes but constantly slagging off a player game after game is just pointless.
What a win!!! You know that there's always hope with this team! Even when the game turns itself around we seem to hang on and push until the end. Great character and quality to go on and win the game 4-2. Sounds like Guly played superb today! 2 assists and a goal. Love it!
I didn't post after they scored, got to nervous. Great win tho into the international break 5 points clear
Great to go into the break with a win, especially away. Adkins has a bit to work on, because we are showing that we can be beaten if our luck runs out. Well done, Saints, for stepping up when needed. Guly great again.
Boro have beaten Watford 1-0, so the top three is "as you were". But obviously there are a few sides below that (e.g. Derby, Palace, Ipswich, Hull) who we have pulled away from today. Fingers crossed for a Leicester-Leeds draw tomorrow.
"Guly do Prado has scored 18 goals since signing from Fiorentina in August 2010" according to the BBC, they really don't care about the Championship do they?
Makes todays win even more important. Lets hope we do what we did to Huddersfield last year..however they did we just won again.
Ok perhaps not 5-0 but always confident we were going to win.we are looking more credible to win this league each week. COYR
Nigel does it again - two inspired substitions turned the game back into our hands. The steadiness and leadership of Hammond was evident from the minute he ran onto the pitch and Steeeeeeve tore them to shreads and scored a beautifully worked goal Well done Nigel (again!)
in the years BA (Before Adkins) once we were pulled back from 2 - 0 to 2 - 2 we would have crumbled and lost todays game. Under Adkins the team spirit is so strong, and the players so fit, and of such quality that we can be confident of pushing on and winning. Well done young Nigel.
We are an entirely different side..a lot of bad habits have gone. Yes, we shouldn't let teams back into the game, but we play till the end and never give up. The team is full of confidence and play without fear.
Great win!!!! Top of the league, we were expected to win against lowly Coventry....we did albeit with a scary 10mins. We're top of the league and teams are going to be up for us!!! Maybe lowly Coventry but these are the teams we must be ruthless with if we want automatic promotion!!! As Steve Claridge has begrudgingly said: Saints are the real deal!!! Great result against WHU last month!!! But the crucial result last month was the point we got at Reading when we weren't at our best, followed it up with 3 wins...COYR
Think they were trying to illustrate a full season's score rate. OK, it's actually 14 months, rather than 12. It's an iffy stat, I grant you. Much better to take it from this season's start. He's doing fine, even better than last season in a league that didn't suit his attributes well, and he's convinced/convincing the doubters too. I reckon he might do just as well in the Premier League. He's just got that combination of physique, technique, vision and class about him, to succeed. When Lambert was hobbling at the end of the 1st half, I wondered whether Nigel might decide to take him off and get Guly to lead the line. I reckon he's up to the task, if ever Rickie is out with an injury. Like today might have shaped up, if Rickie's ankle had been too bad to run off.
Guly is fantastic. Sounded brilliant today. He really is in the mood, and consequently in devastating form in front of goal
Just think what Guly has done since West Ham: assisted De Ridder's goal vs Reading, scored two goals vs Boro (and had been subbed before we scored our 3rd), assisted both goals vs Posh, scored one goal and had a hand in the other three goals vs Coventry (not sure exactly how much of hand until I see them for myself in a couple of hours). That's 9 out of our last 10 goals - and like I say, he wasn't even on the pitch for that 10th.
Guly didn't have a great game at Reading but nor did anyone else bar Kelvin....might not be everybody's favourite but he gives us that extra panache.....NA starts him every week so he must be doing something right????
