So Saudi government run sponsor to be announced for Newcastle. No history repeating itself there. It's City level skirting FFP all over again.

Latest speculation is that our club not being sold after all, just a portion of the club. Probably good news.

Meanwhile RHC's reporter mate told me Arjen Robben is buying the club to be announced soon. :bandit:

Ah, our reluctant feeder club. Think they may relent over this one. Where's Aaron Lennon nowadays? :emoticon-0112-wonde

Is this a reference to Marlene Headley culturally appropriating an African heritage?

I took it as a play on how white people ask people of other races where they're from. When they answer "London" they say "no really, where are you from, where are your ancestors from?", as if they can't be from x Western city because they're not white. I have an Asian friend from here locally (but really from Asia <laugh>) who tells me it drives her crazy. She was born here but no one ever takes "South Carolina" as an answer.

I don't remember the stat perfectly, so I've probably got it wrong by a few generations... But I think it was: if you go back 17 generations, 99+% of people on earth have ancestors of a different race. We're all "mixed".

It's funny isn't it because we are both living in mongrel nations. My ancestry includes Welsh, Irish and French so I'm not pure English although I identify as English. I've been asked about my roots based on my surname. It's really no big deal.

I come from a long line of immigrants. I was born in England and now in US. My mother born in Hungary and moved to UK. Her father born in Romania and mother born in Germany both moved to Hungary. I'm really a mixed bag and definitely a mutt... <laugh>. Even on my English side there is German ancestry. According to my DNA test (not sure how accurate they really are) I'm less British than my American wife and 4% Asian (well... Anatolia) <laugh>

We're all a mixed bag of ethnicity in Liverpool, mostly Irish and Scots who travelled there to get on the boats to the New World and the Commonwealth and, well never quite made it. Mostly Irish and scots, but from all over Europe and even China and India. Happy to be a mongrel too - all the best genes are mixed. :emoticon-0148-yes:

...and Welsh. There are 90 Welsh chapels in Liverpool and lots of houses built and designed by Welsh architects and builders. You must know the names of Roberts, Richard Owens (built the Holy Land streets) and J W Jones and Sons who built most of houses in Sefton Park, Allerton, Childwall and Calderstones (including the house I live in). All that aside, as we've both said most, if not all of us are mongrels.

Is your name Ralph and are you just close enough in the line of succession to be the one to choose if the royal family gets electrocuted en masse at Charles' coronation?

Frankly you sound as blue blooded as the German ****s in Windsor Castle/legoland.

My Hungarian/Romanian branch were actually descended from Transylvanian nobility. Which probably explains the Anatolian genes (Turks were suzerians there at one point so probably a lot of arranged marriages between different parts of the empire... Or soldiers raping). We always joke though that being descended from Transylvanian nobility we're almost certainly related to Vlad the impaler (although he was actually Wallachian not Transylvanian)... Lots of jokes about being vampires in my family too.

Well, we're all descended from prokaryotic microbes if you want to really go back far enough.
Some people I know haven't changed all that much.
