I looked at that one, and I couldn't see nowt but a French hammering having watched their previous games. My mistake was overlooking France were already thru, although I may have considered that point for a few seconds, I dismissed it and missed the chance of another giant killing.

Edit: which proves the point I suppose, don't think about it!

Think something I've learned from previous world cups is that the very first game every team plays, is open to shock results as the teams settle in. Also the third games can be open to shock results, as teams like France rest their players and other teams fight for their lives. I think the World Cup is probably the most unpredictable competition when it comes to betting in my eyes, so when bookies give great odds, I just think they are nuts.

Next lot is knock outs and things will start to get serious, so less chances of any decent shocks or odds.

Thing is with the Japan one, i wasn't seeing the problem, in my head it's always been, the WHOLE of the ball has to cross the line, now I heard Souness banging on about FIFA, but if the Hand of God was allowed, there was no way they was ever going to rule that OUT - with or without the aid of VAR. But it was funny, especially getting chance to laugh at the Germans.

Agreed in that it is only the Germans after all so who cares apart from them. They did invade Poland for less mind..........

I would still like to see the still photo they decided on though. If it was out then it would be even funnier.
