The main questions are, 'Did Mowbray/KLD/Speakman hang around to watch games, will we sign anyone and who would you want'.
I ate and drsnk i bit too much yesterday... so the log splitting and roof work I intended to do has gone by the bye. But instead a couple of decent football matches to watch!
He's also a stand out player in that City team though, 1 of the 1st names on their teamsheet. He walks in to pretty much every national team, he doesnt get as many chances in the England team as the likes of Sterling Mount Saka
Mount is a frustrating player. He gets into great positions but miscontrols or does a bad pass. Foden would have been the better bet v USA.
Watching the Brazil game and got me wondering if Brazil are still the team that no matter which country you support, you still want to watch them play. Yes long gone are the days of the silky football that the likes of Pele, Zico, Socrates, Falcao, Rivaldho, Ronaldo and so on played and It's more of a passing game rather than dribbling half the pitch and scoring a "worldy" but do Brazil still have that "pulling power"?
So would you class them as just another country now then? The football that's played now is maybe not as exciting as times gone by
I still want to watch them more than any other side. It is a romantic view based on history though, most likely. I still tune in and hope to hear the samba beat and the football to match. I agree with @clockstander that Dunga changed things, mentality mostly. The second half against Serbia I thought was a very good performance. They can still show up as a very good side in my opinion. If you ever talk to a Brazil supporter their relationship with the world cup is amazing. Their passion for it is second to none. They will tell you that you either win it or you lose it. Losing in a final is meaningless. In this country we talk about quarters and semis. Brazil cannot understand that at all, win or nothing.
Tough question , still a good side and watchable, but the early magic was something else, I was also younger then, and probably more impressionable.
I agree with you both. The sides that Brazil had when I was younger played some brilliant football at times but it didn't win them many world cups. I was lucky enough to see Brazil in the flesh against Jamaica I think years ago at Leicester's ground where the likes of Cafu, Roque Junior, Roberto Carlos, Rivaldho and Ronaldo played and although the game was forgettable, the atmosphere the 2 countries produced was brilliant inside and outside the stadium
I totally agree with you. You could always guarantee watching Brazil play amazing football at times when I was younger.
