Robert Page has to take a huge amount of blame. His subs continuously made Wales worse, not least by removing any sense of a midfield. You can't play football just with defenders and forwards.
So is the only way for Wales to qualify to hope England beat USA, USA beat Iran and then they beat England? And even then it would be goal difference.
Because, I understand, goal difference is the first tie-breaker (rather than head-to-head record), Wales can afford Iran to draw USA. And if that was to happen, then, in turn, Wales could also afford USA to draw us tonight (but not beat us). But either way, the best Wales can hope for is either for it come to down to GD between them and USA (ie your scenario), or GD between them and Iran. The three things which absolutely must happen for Wales are: (1) they beat us, (2) USA do not beat us, and (3) Iran do not beat USA.
I should add that I've made the assumption that we win the group! Because in theory we could lose both matches, meaning that Wales could then get second place outright,
We agreed personal terms with him in the summer, then Leeds tried to hijack the deal and then he decided not to move yet.
Because he thought he could get a better move and is likely not wrong Unlike in my FM game where he was completely priced out of the market and finally got a move to liverpool on a free transfer in 2026
And now leads the Eredivisie in both goals and assists, while being the Netherlands' best player at the World Cup. He might've been just good enough to crack the Saints lineup.
