Now is the moment where we see whether Southgate has nous, and faith in his squad, or is just another FA "yes man" . There is NO NEED WHATSOEVER to have Kane in the starting XI for the USA game.
Disagree. Get the win and qualify by playing your best team. Imagine they left him out and England lost
There is though, beat USA and we guarantee qualification, the whole first team can then have the day off against Wales.
Then we know the truth : the England attack is not good enough to win WC 2022 if they cannot even beat the USA without Kane.
Absolutely not making excuses for Wales, just commenting on consistency. I think there could have been a few yellow cards to Iran earlier in the game. On another day that might have made the difference because yellows are important. It impacts how that player plays for the rest of the game. Needs to be dished out evenly. Also, if you want to subtly favour one of the teams as an official you give an early yellow for an innocuous challenge to the team you don't like. Not saying anything but can't see where the early yellow for a Serb came from against Brazil yesterday.
Fwiw I think they can still win the game without Kane but I can’t see Southgate resting and I don’t think he should either. Maybe sub him with half hour to go if the game is going to plan.
Wow. USA can't wait for the England game. Keep bringing up the 1950 game. Funny really. In 1950,the English footballers were more interested in the FA Cup than the World Cup.
Dean Saunders on talksh*te, ye gods he compared Roden to Bobby Moore .......even Gabby agbonlahor is not that demented
Actually I think he does quite a good job on co-comms. You get much more tactical stuff from him than most. Seems to make sense, but what do I know?
It really has to be asked why so many keepers are flying off the line this WC, especially as it costs the team every single time Qatar's against Ecuador Mendy vs Holland Navas against Spain Hennessey against Iran
