No, that's utter bollocks, mate. If this woman has done what she's accused of, she should be prosecuted and the money reclaimed. At the moment, these are allegations,so we have to watch this space.

There will always be greedy pigs and it's the duty of governement and a free press to expose them. If the Tories don't hunt down the furlough fraudsters, prosecute and recover monies stolen, I won't vote for them. It's 50/50 whether I would vote for them now anyway. Depends how effective Sunak, Braverman etc are in the next 18 months or so

Very honest of you Goldy. I'm not sure if they could prosecute her or not as the government helped facilitate these kinds of corrupt deals.

It's not the government that decides, Bob. It's the probably the Serious Fraud Office. Nobody should be allowed to get away with fraud and theft during a national emergency, as the pandemic was.

I know it's not the government that decides whether to prosecute or not, my point was, it may become more difficult/complicated as the govt helped facilitate these deals and if they didn't know what was going on, then that shows even higher incompetence.

You truly are ****ing deluded. As I say, while people like yourself continue to look for excuses for their obvious corruption….they will keep on doing it and getting bolder.

The thing is Bob, it isn’t just the Tories who are doing this, although as they are in government it seems they are being more and more blasé about their corruption daily.
I’m sure their are a good few Labour, Liberal, SNP politicians who also have their fat faces in the trough.
What we need in this country is a new way…..someone who will put the needs of working people first, before themselves, their careers and their massive bank balances.

Where was I making excuses? If you're looking for a scapegoat, don't look at me. I want every fraudster hunted down, but the idea that everyone on the government is corrupt is just ****ing thick headed

Many are…..and for people like yourself to keep voting these ****s in is, in my opinion, where the problem lies
YOU allow this……and by doing nothing YOU allow it to continue.

It’s a shame you and your ilk are dragging us all under with you.

As a footnote, I met that Mone woman once in my old job…..truly a horrible, vile, obnoxious piece of ****e who I wouldn’t give the time of day to.

I can believe what you say about Mone. But it's simply fantasy to blame anyone who votes for a mainstream party for fraud during a national emergency. There will always be greedy ****s, Right and Left, and checks and balances need to be in place to prevent it, and where it occurs, to expose and punish it. There isn't a political party in the world where fraud does not occur.

This idea of yours that one new party will bring Utopia, is for the birds.

Have you read the article ? Have you seen the blatant, obvious greed, corruption and back handers that have taken place ?
If you have, and then you would still even consider voting for those ****s…..then the blame lies on you…because in doing so YOU are condoning what they do.

I haven't read the article, but I've heard enough on the MSM to establish that, if it is true, it is at least as bad as you say it is. It's criminal behaviour and corruption at its worst. Obviously, in the interests of fairness, I'm want to hear Mone's response. If she cannot put up a cogent defence, then the next question is, what, if anything did the government know, and what did they do to facilitate the criminality that could have been avoided?

Leaving Mone aside, there are times when governments of all colours and nationalities do things where the morality is questionable, and there are other times when governments are in panic mode faced with a situation like a pandemic with which they are unfamiliar and are focused on helping to prevent businesses from going under. That is the time when the system is most vulnerable to abuse, and there's no doubt it was abused.

So getting to the truth of every case of possible fraud is vital. The government must do, and be seen to be doing, that. And since we're likely to have a Labour government in two years time, there is the added safeguard that they will look at incidents of furlough fraud too.

I totally agree with you staines but as it was the Tories in power, I struggle to have a pop at anyone else. If it had been another party I would be saying the exact same thing

What has a governments morality got to do with anything……it’s just plain corruption. Read the article and judge for yourself if it’s a poor moral decision that has been made….or a case of rich bastards looking after their own, feeding their fat faces, and becoming richer than ever before.
I await your judgement which will tell me more than ever what kind of person you really are.
And YOU have the audacity to berate a union leader, fighting for the rights, pay and conditions of his workers….while behaviour like Mones et all goes on ?
    There lies the problem
