I wonder if the bombing has had an impact, I know it was nowhere near where the trip is going, but I had my Turkish agent here yesterday and she said several major UK retailers had suspended all travel to Turkey (some have even switched their orders from Turkey to the Far East).
I'd recommend a 15,boots own brand (Soltan)will be on sale at the moment due to it being winter.Temperatures a pleasant 21-22 degrees at present so no need to go silly with factor 30's or 50's
Hah, a Glaswegian recommending suntan lotion, what an imagination. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Still no news on whether this trip will go ahead then? I see Acun and his family spent the last week or so in Florida and flew yesterday into London where he is at present.
I missed that but pleased to hear it's going ahead. During the eighties when there was a lot of highjacking going on I never shied away from flying to the Middle East, or anywhere else for that matter, I always took the opinion if you are scared to stop doing things in your everyday life then you are allowing the perpetrators to succeed. It got so bad at one point, airlines were giving away tickets, buy one get one free, and I took my wife to Tokyo, and in a jumbo jet, there were 10 people on the plane, we had personal service as there were 10 stewards or Stewardesses.
It's good to see the pound has strengthened against the dollar, now $1.21 to the pound. That will make the travellers to Turkey spending money go a bit further. It was down to 24,000 Dong to the pound here a few weeks ago, up to 30,000 Dong to the pound now.
Funny how the media were full of it when the £ appeared to be heading toward parity. Now it's above 1.20 .... nothing mentioned!
