    It’s not a power station, it’s just a storage unit, it allows offshore wind power to be stored when there’s no demand, to be used at peak times.

    Yep, I know. Up to 2 hours for c. 300k homes just doesn't seem much of an impact, which is why I asked if I'm missing something here?

    It stores energy which would otherwise be wasted so its not just meeting the demand, its saves on more expensive generation at gas powered plants and reduces carbon output. The impact is wider than the simple supply numbers.
