Iran's last 4 WC matches against a 'big' nation.

    Iran 0-1 Argentina
    Iran 0-0 Portugal
    Iran 0-1 Spain
    Iran 2-6 England

If this Brazil or Germany we'd be taking about the 'statement' they've made.

But as it's England, everyone will say we gave away two goals (with the help of VAR)

Nah still think it'll be a South American side.

Really hoping for an Argentina QF.

Half full stadiums at a World Cup is such a travesty.

The Dutch might consider shooting at some point when they're in on goal.

I don't pretend to know anything about Islamic religious adherence, but are the games being played during the times when the faithful are being called to prayer? In other words, are any Qatari football fans unable/unwilling to sit in the stadia, when they are expected to be in their mosques? That might explain the empty seats, or maybe the 'football crazy' claims are indeed bollocks.

I feel that the Dutch are trying to score the goal of the tournament with every attack, and are discarding any attacks that don't reach their expectations. They would rather not score, as opposed to scoring a scrappy goal.

So for the English amongst us (I have to say that because of Aberdeen Saint who won't give a **** and St Helen who is back :) ), what is the best result tonight? I was thinking a draw?

Dutch very much appear to be playing not to lose. Somewhat unsurprising I suppose given that a draw sets them up fairly well, but more exciting halves of football have been played.

Me too, but I don't want the USA having to beat us on Friday. Remember who I work for :)

Also, now going to US for work on Saturday for a week and would never live it down if the USA beat us...or even drew.
