    Argentina or Brazil to win.

    Iran 1-1 England
    England 1-1 USA
    England 1-2 Wales.

    They're coming home.

See I don’t want him to do that but he will. If you can’t defend then don’t.

Control the midfield and dictate the play and then there is less emphasis on defending. Just flood the midfield and play deeper.

Qatar only have themselves to blame for a 0-2 half time score. They must try much better in the second half.

Maybe it's the Royal Mail who are delivering the envelopes to the VAR team... <laugh>

I don't care if we are dogshit. But we had better not lose to or draw with the USA. Those arrogant ****s need to be brought down a peg or two.

I am not so confident. Our defence looks shaky and our midfield don’t give them enough protection without Phillips. Just hope that Southgate realises that Maguire is not needed against Iran. Go with a much better passing back four. I would actually go with:
    Pickford
    Trippier
    White
    Stones
    Shaw
    Rice
    Bellingham
    Foden
    Maddison
    Grealish
    Kane

    for this first game.

Match last night was a bit late here so only watched the first half but looks like I didn't miss much. England game an 8pm kick off today and then tomorrow we have a 5pm, 8pm and 11pm. Been a while since the match times were reasonable in Asia. Its going to be a knackering month.

Thought Ecuador looked okay but not really tested. It was interesting how quickly they spotted the Qatar goalie was ****e and then just started testing him with early long balls and crosses. Seems to be something about Arab goalies - generally not up to much.

I think it was on match if the day a few weeks ago the stats of Trippier
He has some of the best stats of any player in the league
Yet you wouldn’t think it reading some of these pundits comments for starting 11 <doh>

They are trained to punch and not catch a ball. Never understood that. Mind you, his kicking made Tim Krul's distribution seem world class. The Qatari's were up there with the very worst sides to ever qualify. The Dutch will punish them.

Just lol at the fact that most English and Iranian people are at work during the game. What a joke of a schedule.

Yeah, it's crap. I find it bad enough getting interested in the WC as it is, but these timings just mean I can't be arsed.

Albert and DPP don't seem to mind the timings though.

    Tripps starting against Iran

    England XI:
Pickford, Stones, Maguire, Trippier, Rice, Bellingham, Mount, Shaw, Saka, Kane, Sterling

    Attacking line-up for Southgate.
