    I spent five days in Milan last week, I saw one sign advertising the World Cup. Nothing else. No one talking about it. I wonder why? <whistle>

    You’re a mug then as it’ll be a glorious celebration of football and LGBTQ+ rights.

    Am hoping its a decent game as both sides will surely feel they need to win this. Certainly can't see a loser turning things round to qualify.

    Both the Qatar and Iran squads seem to be wholly from domestic clubs ... be interesting to see how they fare against 'galacticos' ... Big surprise or battered ...

    Nah, no one gives a ****. But Augustin Delgado scored 31 international goals for Ecuador, and one PL goal for Saints, iirc. Hope this helps.

    Camel race planned for the opening ceremony, followed by beheading of the losers.

    Iran vs USA could be the only game I watch. Might even buy an Iran flag for the occasion (will most likely steal a massive one from outside the embassy in Mayfair).

    Iran are good value to pick up a draw at 18/5 tomorrow and think its likely that'll happen.

    Might as well back the 0-0 if you fancy the draw. We’ll scrape it just about under a gloriously attacking 5-2-3

    True but knowing my luck it'll end up 1-1. Kane penalty to equalise in the last minute.

    8/1 for nil nil though which is insane imo.

    The opening ceremony is scheduled to start at 3pm UK time. The opening match will kick off at 4pm.

    The opening ceremony will take place in a stadium which is located 40km north of the capital city of Qatar, Doha. The ceremony is at the Al Bayt Stadium which holds 60,000 people.

    @Archers Road to confirm

    Was at that game, finished 3-2 I think? Delgado scored one with his arse iirc. Beattie scored the first with a free kick that went right through the wall? Or am I getting old and confused? Think that may have been against Spurs the same season.

    A 60,000 seater stadium in the arse end of nowhere.

    Bit like St James Park then.
