That has been going around on FB... I dont find the humour it purports to address as irony ...amusing
I don't find any of the actualities amusing but sometimes gallows humour is all we have left. It's an oft used base for memes with di Caprio playing a particularly nasty character. It's testament to his skills that it gets used so much. I find it apt.
There will still be alcohol in the fan zones and budwisser non alcoholic in the stadiums. Possibly not a bad idea anyway! Less trouble? Can't wait for a few hooligans being punished with 20 lashes
That is a fair point - think it was more the timing tbh . Maybe they just forgot and someone had to remind them .
Eventually they showed that there seemed to be an offside but hardly ideal showing it 10 minutes later .
And to think that the var team not only has twice as many officials as normal, but is also using something called semi-autonomous offside technology. They should take it back to Poundland and ask for their money back.
Well that was exciting! Went to sleep 5 minutes into the second half and woke up with 2 minutes left.
2nd half was like a team who knew they had the game won and played it easy with a game in a few days time .
Yet somehow missed nothing. The Dog and Duck, or the Qatari equivalent, fielded a team in front of: an air-conditioned stadium with the roof open many empty seats many more fans leaving during the second half few women fans paid-for fans (who had their ‘allowance’ cut the day before travel), and the ghosts of thousands of immigrants who built this farce, paying with their lives A proud FIFA chairman looked on.
His attempt at Arabic was appalling. I doubt if anyone understood a word of what he was saying. It was like listening to a Geordie reading Vietnamese but with no knowledge of the language.
