They will be selling a few players between now and June too to make it easier, but then watch out for a couple of massive marketing contracts ( like Man City) where huge sums handed over from some business based in the M East. That then goes to their P&L account and hey presto they dont break the rules but can spend another £200m….

They say you have to be a little on the mad side to be a keeper, Foster and Robinson proving the point.

That's a lot of bets. But him not being Leeds Utd will mean he will be offered therapy as opposed to a huge fine and ban. Now we know why he never made the England set up.

Yep, gay boy Southgate doesn’t want any awkward questions to answer, well not with his low IQ

Anyone remember poor lonely academy player Jordan Stevens living in digs away from his south London family. He had 4 £5 bets over a few weeks. Got banned from all football not even allowed to see anyone at TA. Lets see what happens to Tony

quite. Gambling is still rife in football. Young guys - too much money. Even the old card school on the bus is still standard practice.

Do we ever get to hear what the bets are about? If you’re not betting on a game you’re involved in as young Stevens wouldn’t have been in is there an issue. Is it because a mate at another club might tip you the wink a weakened side will be played?

A few £5 bets done on line through boredom got the kid banned and we ended up having to sell him to Watford, it killed his career and think he’s somewhere in L1.

IVan Toney must have done way way more than young Stevens

I’m not saying two wrongs make a right. I’m saying if Toney or Stevens bet on games they were directly involved in so could have personally influenced the result, number of shots on target, corners etc. that’s surely far worse, at whatever level, than they’d both stuck a bet on the winner of Hibs v Kilmarnock say?

Yeh the insider thing for games they’re not involved in is a bit of a nonesense really.

… the Toney thing is for bets placed 2017-21 so mainly before he hit the big time really.

Stevens wasn’t betting on games where he knew anyone in fact a couple of the games were overseas. Even the club complained to the FA and called his sentence too harsh

I agree. Why can’t any player have a bet on a game that they can’t influence is my point?
