All the stadiums proposed are over 40k capacity, no stadium in Yorkshire has a capacity that big.

Goodison Park is less than 40k, but I assume by 2028 their new stadium will be open

Goodison Park is over 40k (40,394 to be precise), but as you say, they'll be in their new 52k stadium by then anyway.

What's actually wrong with Hampden Park? When's the last time you were in it?

I'm sure Casement Park will be very popular with the likes of Linfield and Glentoran. :emoticon-0111-blush

Celtic Park, Ibrox or Murrayfield would have been better.

the pitch being about 100 metres from the stands
behind the goal you need binoculars to see the other end
    it's soulless
    **** noise

murrayfield is a far better stadium
could easily have the football played there
but the sfa won't give up hampden

That's OK, we don't want Leeds or one of the Sheffield clubs competing at the top of English football.

Best dig out your telescope for St James' Park and the Stadium of light then...Unless they switch to Twickenham:emoticon-0148-yes:

The area where we are housed for away games at Sunderland is miles from the pitch, why isn't it comparable? And the Scottish FA don't need to switch to Murrayfield because Hampden is there?

If I thought Hampden was ****e I wouldn't be wasting time responding!

You will be the nearer the centre circle at those with the steeper raked stands than at Hampden behind the goals with that large empty semi circle area and then more gently sloping stands.
Doesn’ affect atmosphere. There are greater distances from the pitch at Napoli and a lot of grounds in Europe and South
America with atmospheres we can only dream about.

What is it with the FA that they won't do a deal with the rugby union lot? When Wembley was getting done up they used Cardiff rather than the excellent Twickenham. Seems a similar situation in Scotland too.

There are restrictions on how many times a year Twickenham can be used. Last time the FA wanted to use it the RU agreed but the council said no as it would have exceeded the limit.
