9 players going into dodgy contract length territory? I'd expect perhaps 1 or 2 running down their contracts in any one year, but 9? That is a huge risk, and surely cannot be a coincidence, can it? But if indeed it isn't a coincidence, has this situation been engineered? And I'm not just thinking along the lines of players / agents banding together - I'm wondering if Radz engineered this to pressure the 49ers into moving earlier than planned? Or perhaps more likely, it's just plain negligent management of the player contracts.
As I said earlier WJ there is no excuse for contract situations not to be resolved before Xmas this year 6 weeks before we play again.those we don’t want put on the market, anyone else we want needs extending. Harrison and Ayling will give us all a clue as to what happens next. I think Ayling will walk on a free and Harrison will move on a transfer, maybe even in January? Drameh will stay if Ayling goes (If we want him)
In fairness it’s a dammed if you do or dammed if you don’t situation. Player is performing well it’s negligent you’ve let him run his contract down, if he’s not you’re a muppet for signing up deadwood we can’t get rid of.
It's time for a clear out milky. Let's start with the mods...Risty's ok but the other two need to pull their weight more.
The Drameh debate rumbles on Big mistake While it is true that, at present, both Rasmus Kristensen and Luke Ayling are ahead of Drameh in Jesse Marsch’s right-back pecking order, considering just how much potential the 20-year-old possesses, in addition to Ayling turning 32 years of age early next year, the argument that selling the youngster this winter would be a big mistake is an easy one to make. Indeed, the £2.2m-rated talent highly impressed during a short-term loan spell with Cardiff City last season, helping the Bluebirds keep six clean sheets over his 22 Championship appearances, as well as making an average of 3.8 tackles – the most of any player in the division – one interception, 2.0 clearances and winning 6.9 duels – at a success rate of 57% – per game.
Here's my opinion on it fwiw, Drameh was highly regarded at Fulham, I think he was promised something from us to get him to come here, which hasn't materialised.
This. When i look at whose contracts are 18 months away... which of them are an automatic sign them up? So, I think Vic may have it about right with most of them. Many look ripe to run down or let go in Jan/summer. Some others need a good season to prove they warrant an extension
Today new articles on the Drameh situation: He added, “With Cody Drameh, I don’t know what the club are doing, I really don’t. The worrying aspect for me is we’ve got a real talent there. Now, my question is, when we’re looking at a player that’s getting ahead of him in Luke Ayling, could Luke Ayling go to the championship in your opinion for six months and get Player of the Year? No chance. I think you’d be struggling to get in a lot of championship starting elevens right now. The bottom half championship but absolutely no chance top 12 but yet he’s coming on for Leeds United to try and secure the game as we saw at the weekend, now this is no disparaging comment on Luke Ayling. He’s just got to a point now where he’s not good enough.” Leeds certainly need to stop this love-in with the Championship-winning players. Thank you for the promotion but football evolves. Leeds United need to evolve, and that means moving players on who are no longer good enough. We can’t keep these players at the club on sentiment, it simply boils down to who is capable of playing to a high level in the Premier League and sadly, 6 or 7 players at the club right now, can’t play to the standard that we need to firstly, stay in the division, and then progress the side to be consistently challenging for a top-half finish.
We fkd up when we didn’t buy Ben White for £35 million (I think) the lad is quality and what price would you put on him now Mr. Orta.
