Kristenson was crocked, Ayling not back to fitness so only good for a cameo. Don’t recall Cody doing much wrong though. If he did it was overshadowed by the enormous sh*tstorm llorente… and the referee put on.

you will however have been pleased to notice that our second goal involved an overlapping fullback <laugh>

Courageous as it was, Cody Drameh’s decision to stay at Leeds United and fight for minutes under Jesse Marsch has not yielded the appearances he wanted.

The 20-year-old backed himself to compete with Rasmus Kristensen and Luke Ayling, but with both of them fit and firing, the former Fulham man has barely made the bench, let alone the pitch. There was one moment of light for Drameh at Brentford, where an injured Kristensen and rusty Ayling opened the door for the youngster.

While his 69 minutes were solid, Ayling would outshine him from the bench and after the enforced break Kristensen would be fit to return. There have been regular outings in Premier League 2 with the under-21s, but in similar circumstances 12 months ago, Drameh sought a January move away.

There was arguably even more of a pathway for Drameh last season, so when the transfer window opens again, he may be tempted to look for opportunities further afield. In the immediate future, Drameh must get himself fit, however, the right-back was conspicuous by his absence from the young team which travelled to Molineux in the EFL Cup last week.

While he was unlikely to start ahead of Ayling, he would have been a shoo-in on the bench despite playing 90 minutes with the under-21s two days earlier. Marsch was pushed on Drameh’s absence in his pre-Tottenham Hotspur press conference last week. “The plan was to have him in the squad and he said he wasn't physically ready,” said Marsch. “He said he felt he was injured so then we didn't put him in the squad.”

Youngsters, like Leo Hjelde and Archie Gray, have generally been included in Marsch’s injury updates at the start of his media briefings, but Drameh was not mentioned last Friday. The head coach did not specify the problem either, instead trusting in Drameh’s self-diagnosis.

Its not rocket science and needs the club and Marsch to say to Drameh. Here is the plan Cody, Luke will be leaving in the summer which means you and Kristensen will be our LBs. Failing to do that means Drameh will leave in January and thats even without a contract for Ayling. Will Luke get a new deal, does he want one, is he good enough at his age. My view is he isnt and played less games each year, with more injuries each year. So if the club are not bothered about speaking the truth to DrAmeh he will leave and I can’t blame him

    Afternoon all

I hope we see Bielsa back in the PL we need more guys like him and less Klopps. I think he’d get most teams promoted from the Championship, the PL he’s always going to come unstuck from time to time

I’d hope he’d take a few players like James, Harrison and Bamford off our hands, throw in Llorente too

As for our nearly signings all playing garbage, if Orta and Jesse feel they are an improvement on what we have then as long as they’re a lot cheaper and a bargain fee why not

Personally I’d prefer the money spent on defence

Jesse doesn't strike me of the type of manager who gives a kid a start and then bombs him out of the squad. In fact Marsche has so far excelled in promoting U21 players into the first team and then slowly helping them find their feet, with Greenwood, Summerville and Gnonto all benefitting from his willingness to trust young players. Which does makes you wonder what's happened with Drameh and is it simply a case of 2 senior players being in front of him or is there more to it than that ?

Dunno - may be both Jammy. Truth is none of us know the conversations that have gone on behind the scenes. Last year jesse said he had no ego problems in the first team, but a few in the 21s.

in the presser last week his language suggested to me that they thought drameh was bullsh*tting about the wolves game.

when talking about transfers he also talked about managing who stay who goes, what youngsters are kept and who are moved on.

I’m not saying drameh is a trouble maker- don’t know the kid, but it looks like trouble at t’mill

Wonder if Drameh's upset because Southgate can't read his mind to see that he's the best RB in the world. <whistle>

My guess is he's probably declined to enter into discussions about a new contract, or something like that. Anyway probably doesn't really matter as he'll be gone in January me thinks.

Talking of which, Pascal is out of contract at the same time as Drameh (summer of 2024) as is Harrison.

Didn’t realise that re struijk. Would like to see him get another run in the side at left cb… to see how he does, but that would require a new left back and a big decision to drop captain coops.

On the Drameh front I refer back to Cardiff last season. Fans favourite, players player of the year, young player of the year. Played all 22 league games from January, scored 2 and 5 assists from RWB. Manager said of him that he’s a great kid a great pro, hard working and Cardiff have not got enough money to take him away from Leeds and thinks he will be playing in the premier league next season (this) for either Leeds are one of a few clubs I know are chasing him. Doesn’t sound like a big ego player to me, plus he chose to come to Leeds and not Palace, Arsenal or Chelsea because of a better chance of breaking through.

Milky got it right when he said none of us know what has been said, but we do know something was said to Drameh in the summer by Marsch and Jacko, because Drameh impressed in pre season (Marsch’s words) I think something will happen before Xmas one way or the other. Plus if Ayling doesn’t get offered a new contract before Xmas he ain’t getting one :emoticon-0148-yes: O reason not to sort out any contracts now before Xmas

Cheers Ell. Some amusing market values there.

I’d really struggle to put a value on Struijk.

Benchmark for drameh is djed Spence… he went for 12.5 plus add ons. But was a bit higher profile than drameh and had longer on his contract.

Seems like with a year and a half to run, for most of them, decision time is looming for our entire defence.

Drameh needs to get a new agent as his only has 11 players on his books and Drameh is the 2nd highest profile player behind Oxlade Chamberlain. The rest are from L1 and 2

I thought Cooper signed an extended contract, 2 years ago, taking him to end of 2025/26 season?

Just checked, it is 2024, as you were

maybe it’s the agent with the ego not Cody? Trying to drum up cash for himself by hawking a deal?

No, Bielsa ensured Cooper, Dallas and Ayling all got a big fat pay rise with a long term contract
