Ask a multi-billionaire. Baffles me - I'd be satisfied to have enough to live comfortably and provide for loved ones. If for some reason I came into wealth way beyond my requirements I'd try to do something useful with it. For some people wealth accumulation becomes an obsession, it seems.
Well the only limit he set publicly last summer was a cl club but I'm sure he walked mad money from any one tyre kicking. I think he would want the world cup and cl and one more golden ball rather than the cash But **** him
Presumably this has been picked up as part of the 'fair-market value' assessments now being carried out by the PL on all related-party sponsorships over 1million quid, since 2016, for all clubs. A rule was brought in temporarily banning all related-party sponsorships, on the back of our takeover and new regulations just announced now mean all sponsorship deals must be submitted to PL, who will decide whether its a related-party deal and then carry out a fair-market value assessment and reject it if they deem it not to be such. Will be interesting to see what penalties will be applied to clubs who transgressed in the past. We are hoping PL will order Mike Ashley to pay us millions for his Sports Direct Sponsorship that he never paid the club for.
, Well if it didn't appear on revenue for the club to inflate income then this doesn't ruling doesn't apply. He started you lot out like a sports direct mannequin for free advertisement and made you all suffer.
I did not know this: "Arsenal and Liverpool will both face Lyon and AC Milan next month in preparation for the return of the domestic season after the World Cup. The Premier League duo will take part in the Dubai Super Cup during the break with all the games taking place at the Al-Maktoum Stadium. Mikel Arteta’s side will travel to Dubai for a warm-weather training camp before taking on Lyon on December 8 at 7.30pm (local time) and Milan on December 13 at 6pm. They will not, however, play Liverpool during the tournament." I suppose it will be used like a second pre-season?
thanks for this. we have enough players to make it make sense and i assume all clubs are in dubai doing the same thing. obviously dubai sticking one in the eye of the qatar world cup. one must question: qatar = deaths and human rights issues plus mas corruption to get this blood cup Dubai = ? we don't know do we? the corruption is moot given it is just a friendly but don the same issues exist in dubai (players/fans not welcome as lgbtq++ and who built their stadiums? how many dies? we don't know do we?
"Fair market value assessment" like Usmanov giving Everton £30m in 2020 for first option on naming rights for a new stadium that still doesn't exist two years later? PL rules, just like FFP, are a joke.
good jobthey wasted it eh? In theory they could be advertising said stadium right now. come to the Russian fascist bowl. see what Ukraine province of Russia might look like as we reconstruct it
Think klopp said would go to Dubai so that players getting knocked out WC can join up with them easily as just next door
its a nice training camp and vital to our season but hopefully our 7 players are all back early (and england defeat is squarely on city players not trent)
Dubai was identical; huge infrastructure projects with lots of cheap Labour from the Indian subcontinent and a terrible safety record. we weren’t much better pre unions tbf.
I've ahem done extensive research on this topic Klopp has liked a warm weather camp a number of times precovid. we've had crazy schedules for past season or restrictions to stop them March 2016 – Tenerife February 2017 – La Manga March 2017 – Tenerife January 2018 – Dubai February 2018 – Marbella May 2018 – Marbella January 2019 – Dubai February 2019 – La Manga We have used the place before it seems. As this is a more controlled longer period i think we can avoid some of the issues with travel and rest before the city and Leicester games. However the question remains, how ethical is one over the other when compared to qatar finally, last time we stayed in the same place the Westin next to the marina in dubai as it has everything. a large gym, short running track, astro turf football pitch and beach facilities.
I dunno. It's very elitist stuff so personally I've no real interest in going there any more than going to Monaco etc. What I don't know is have people been killed throwing up their luxury hotels as well? That's what I don't know.
I suppose there's an element of where do you draw the line. Any countries where there are migrant workers will probably find them treated poorly. We could be heading in that direction ourselves.
