Oh, right. So if you're not in N4 or 5 or whatever you can't have an opinion on it.

    The ultimate last resort argument.

    Very mixed in North.

Mature, distinguished and good looking chaps such as me and Askew.

Younger types who spend half their time on their phones checking their bets (or in the case of one yesterday watching rugby league!:emoticon-0145-shake)

Even younger types in SI, CP company etc. Not so sure its all fake though tbh, lots of kids have money to blow on gear (and clothes!).

Decent singing when we're doing well...not great when we're not

The person who did what was suggested on Twitter, and I assume it's correct, is a knobhead and ought to get a lengthy ban. Not as simple as checking the seat they were in, but that would be a decent start and work from there. No excuse for what they did

You can have an opinion. Doesn’t mean it is the right one or that I have to agree with.

Because it was a disgraceful thing to happen And not just in one section of a football stadium. The thread has moved on to general things notconnected to my original post.

To speak to any. young person like that anywhere is despicable. To treat one of your fans like that is just unbelieveable.
I hope he gets a good seeing to.

They want to wait and let them in. Allow them to spend their money on a ticket. Get them in their seat, clock it, get confirmation of identity from the adult that reported it. Then make a massive deal of getting them out.

**** it, as they’re being dragged out, have the stadium announcer say “just a reminder that there’s no room for racism in our football club”.

    They are and they aren't.

They are probably coming from opposing places traditionally, but the practical impact is pretty similar in respect that both damage the club and wider community.

Ultimately both boil down to a level of tribalism where social norms no longer exist.

And that affects the rest of the support who do actually know where to draw a line.

My take on the handbag comment was that some dancing teenagers pretending they want to fight, but doing it for show and never going to actually do anything COULD be reasonably described as handbags, because we know they aren't going to (if they were they'd do it outside since you're back milling with away fans after 50 yards anyway.

Of course some have and some will, but the running at away fans and running back again in the ground mob are just doing it for show, and look daft to me.

The person described in the OP did something, verbally and physically, and it was a disgrace.

Oh I agree that was beyond the pale.

But at the same time it's not beyond reason to expect a certain level of self control anywhere in a relatively confined space of between 15 and 20 k people.

150-200 sniffed up kids might be a manageable issue now, but it's not something I'd like to see more of. Doubt most at the game or the authorities would either. So best nip it in the bud early eh? Before it becomes something significant again, no?

You can't be behind every teenager offering a talking to/swift clip when he/she (who knows nowadays) goes a bit ott.

Hooliganism in Football has always been and always will be 'Tribalism',it's Town v Town,City v City. It's had nothing to do with racism and never will have!!

The original post touches on a heinous act of cowardice aimed at an individual because of the colour of their skin..Where's the link?

I honestly wonder at times like these where some of you have been hiding for the last 50+ years if you see a link between Racism and Hooliganism...

Tribalism and racism share many of the same traits, undesirable characteristics and have a similar effect upon the 'other'. Only essential difference is where you draw your boundary.

Both come from the same root.

Hooliganism wasn't historically a 'racist' movement though, I agree.

That's as far as we agree.
