To be honest I thought we played good football in the first half except that The Blades kept slicing thorough our left full back with little triangle passes time and again. Why wasn’t this addressed earlier? Eventually it was our downfall.

Sheffield United are a good footballing team and we matched them well for the first 45.

I don’t know what was said at half time but it didn’t work. We were a different team until near the end when we could have levelled. Of course as many of you guys have said on here we would be in a much healthier position if we could find a proper goal scorer. I’ve been down down to watch the City for over 40 years and I have seen a lot worse performances that what was on display yesterday but we have nicked games because we had someone who knows that if you put the ball in between the 12ft x 8ft posts you are more likely to score. Perhaps Messrs Ojo, Harris and Robinson should take note. Maybe Etete deserves a start. Harris was awful trying to take on too many players Colwill was blowing, probably due to lack of game time and fitness. And Sheffield won nearly every second ball.

We really need a left full back and a goal scorer minimum in January if we’re going to survive this season. As for Hudson I’ll reserve judgement until after the transfer window.

Irish pal, that first half was as good as we've played this season - but no cigar. I posted at half time we should have gone in 3-0 up. I don't think Hudson and Co had a workable plan to change it for the better. Whatever was said during the break, it's hard to fathom that the second half we were a different side but with the same players on the pitch.

When changes were eventually made Huds made the wrong decisions - Colwill for Harris playing out wide was a bum move, and unless Ralls was carrying an injury, Whyte on for him was very strange. Same with Sang coming off - Rhino on for him would have been my choice if we'd been 1-0 up not 0-1 down.

Getting Knounknou off was overdue, but Ojo on for him - really? We needed to change our approach up front not introduce a player who has serially failed this season. Etete should have been the option to mix it up - seriously poor game management.

"Game management" is usually a term used when holding a lead - yesterday it applied equally to trying to salvage something from the game.

I saw the highlights on tv and it looks like the fullback got the ball stuck in his legs, so perhaps unlucky but the shot could only have gone in one place, at the near post, so why the fug wasn’t Allsop aware of that?

If only we had a striker like yours:emoticon-0138-think

As for Allsop it was the sheer pace of the drive that did for him. He’s not culpable for the loss; our full backs error plus missing half a dozen decent chances was why we lost.
