Lampard only tie to west ham was an 11mil transfer fee many many many years ago. His father and uncle were the legends there and is long since gone from the scene I can't see lampard being welcome anywhere after his second failure in the prem. First season he did well. He started to do **** after the transfer ban was lifted. Maybe he was living off of other people's coaching in that first season? Maybe he didn't know how to get players to gel?
He comes across as a **** man manager. The first indication of that was at Chelsea. Not at Derby though. Which gives me the impression that he had the respect of players in the lower leagues, and could get away with it to a certain extent. He came to Chelsea, probably thought he had enough clout being a club legend (probably did to a certain extent) but when he started dropping players and stroking his own ego at the expense of team unity or playing players on merit, and then publicly hanging them out to dry after every poor result, he alienated half the dressing room and they switched off. Just smacks of rising to far too quickly imo. Should've cut his teeth longer at Derby or another Championship side.
I still find it hilarious that Citeh play 'Hey Jude' a song famously by a Liverpool band before each of their home games. I mean its not like there isn't a famous Manchester band who are Citeh fans knocking about.
