It would be interesting to see Roberts and Clarke swapping wings every now and again during the game, just to mix it up. (Or whoever plays wide)

I think you can go through the entire squad and everyone has had their doubters to be honest. Neil has been written off more than most in my opinion, and he is one of our own. I think in most cases it isnt so much people are writing them off, so much as wanting them to perform to the level we think they are capable of.

Have ya got him mixed up with someone else? Maja maybe?

Cause Sanderson was never ours and we never discussed contracts with him as we never had a bid accepted.

Massive effort from this lad to last the full game. Struggled first half but better second....

    Welcome back lad.

You can watch Dan Neil for 10 minutes and you will see a rolls royce of a footballer. The way he moves around the midfield area, the way he receives on the half turn, the quality of his passing, the vision he has. What he is improving now is the ability to play both ways in midfield. He is aggressive off the ball, both in terms of tackling and getting his body around the ball. His ability to cut passing angles off is getting close to where Evans is, and he is a master at that. He has just about everything needed to be a midfielder of the highest quality. He was one of a few last summer who worked really hard in the gym close season, to get physically stronger. It has given him the confidence to compete physically. He could have gone backwards with Alex Neil in charge, but he seems mentally strong as well. He is still only 20 but I would argue he is one of the 3 or 4 most important players at the club. He can be anything at all when he is 24, up to him.

I agree but you can see that Clarke looks tired and is in need of a rest as Charley Farley said , he could hardly run in that second half and changes should have been made sooner, being generous I reacon TM did not want to risk Zak or Jewy for different reasons last night, as it became more and more obvious that the Birmingham "style" of football was erring on the robust to say the least , and you have to say they are very good at it.

Yes he does look a bit leggy. Roberts on the left with Amad right would be good. With Clarke, Jewi and then Dajaku as the backups out wide.

That is only the second time I've seen Huggins, the first game I was so impressed, he looked so comfortable on the ball, always wanted it even when he was marked and very rarely loses it.
He is a special talent and I've been very surprised at some comments made recently that people weren't sure he would be a starter, I know it's about opinions but this kid is something special

Think that will all depend on Huggins, not a bad dilemma though, Hume and Cirkin but then Huggins can play both RB and LB who would have thought after so many years of playing midfielders at RB and playing a LB who wasn't even a footballer

The bit I can't get my head around is yes the bloke has made mistakes, don't we all but surely everyone can see we have never recruited as positively as we are at the moment. Not sure if people still blame him for the Defoe, Keane and Neil episodes but ffs the bloke needs some credit

Exactly what I was saying to someone in the betting shop this morning. Don't think it will be too far away once it starts up again.

Cut off for 5 cards past last week against Cardiff so there is an extension to this now (not sure exact details) so he is safe.

Just found out this information regarding bookings/suspensions:

    • Five yellows accumulated before match week 19 results in a one-match ban.
    • Ten yellows accumulated by week 32 will result in a two-match ban.
    • Fifteen yellows by week 38 means a three-match ban.
    • Twenty yellows in a season can result in the Regulatory Commission punishing the player in a manner that they deem to be most fitting.

That would be a great option because Clarke was getting nowhere with their RB whereas a different winger (Roberts) might have been able to.
I doubt their RB would have changed with their LB and Clarke might have been able to get past the LB as he has the beating of most LR/backs.

It disrupts how the fullbacks have to think, they get used to a player cutting inside all the time the suddenly they are up against a winger who goes outside all the time. When we have Cirkin and Huggins bombing on the overlap it should be great fun.

Neil is a good player, capable of the odd moment of quality as we saw yesterday with that pass to Amad, but I feel like if he wasn’t a local lad he wouldn’t be anywhere near the side. He makes too many mistakes and has cost/nearly cost us on countless times this season. No way should he be starting every game.
