A disaster of a week so far, hopefully we'll get some losses back on Saturday. One of our Ten To Follow horse and an Ante Post advice for Cheltenham runs; 2.40 Naas, Three Stripe Life. He’s a short priced Fav but will hopefully make a winning chase debut and it’s nice to see him starting out over 2m4f. 1.18 Wetherby – Iroko – generally 9/2 An unexposed 4yo who looks to be on a potentially lenient mark for his handicap debut. Having shown plenty of promise in France including when runner up in a nice race at Auteuil where the winner followed up next time and where the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th have all since won. Twice raced for the Oliver Greenall yard last season, he was highly tried on both occasions with connections not wanting to lose his novice status this season, unless the won a decent pot. He ran with promise on both occasions, firstly in a Grade 1 at Chepstow behind Porticello and then in a Grade 2 at Kempton behind Kings Salute. On both occasions he travelled nicely but found himself outpaced before then staying on again near the finish suggesting a longer trip would suit. He steps up half a mile here and off a mark 121 he could easily prove himself a good deal better than that. 2.12 Uttoxeter – Tea For Free – 15/8Paddy Power, 7/4 Bet365, Skybet, otherwise 13/8 or 6/4. Lightly raced over hurdles, he had shown some promise and improvement with each run, but his form has taken off since being sent over fences. A very easy winner on his chase debut at Huntingdon in May, he then reappeared last month here at Uttoxeter and having jumped superbly throughout he pulled clear to win by a very comfortable 15 lengths without ever really having been asked a question. He understandably up in the weights, but such was his authority he’ll take a fair bit of beating. 2.20 Cheltenham – Stolen Silver (e/w) – 6/1 Ladbrokes, Bet365, Corals, Unibet, Betfred, Boylesports, otherwise 11/2 Majority of bookmakers paying Top 4 Places, some paying Top 5. A really progressive chaser last year, he’ll really appreciate the good ground and he seems to excel under those conditions as shown when bolting up over course and distance on his final start last season. He travelled and jumped superbly that day and powered up the hill to win by 11 lengths. He’d previously run an excellent 4th in the Plate at The Festival, but that was on a soft surface, and he didn’t seem to have the same bounce. He’s certainly a better horse on decent ground, the stable are firing on all cylinders and Stolen Silver can continue his progression. 6.00 Wolverhampton – Sunstone – generally 10/3 A strong word from one of our Newmarket contacts for an unexposed 3yo making his handicap debut. She’d not really shown much on her first two outings on ground that would have been quicker than she’d really want, being a daughter of Pivotal. Making her all-weather debut last time she was sent off an unconsidered 33/1 shot, she ran a hugely eye-catching race, staying on strongly into 3rd place behind a very highly regarded winner. The runner up is also well regarded, and in another stride, Sunstone would have been runner up. This step up in trip will suit and with further improvement she can get the better of the Fav.
