We can but hope, he dies a slow painful death Ps I bet Putin is looking carefully at his Buckwheat porridge this morning
Russian missiles land in Poland, a NATO member. Interesting development. Above my pay grade I’m afraid. What now?
If proven as intentional then NATO must step in and protect their members. I think initially the Polish borders will be strengthened significantly with air defence. Nobody wants war apart from Putin, but if he keeps prodding this could escalate very quickly
Yeah that can’t be good, get ready for the “it wasn’t us it was the Ukrainians” standard bollocks that their officials will spout. Thankfully NATO isn’t ran by a power hungry madman so will do everything they can to de-escalate things.
Not only did the land in Poland, they have killed 2 people. Nato members will meet at their HQ (article 4 triggered). Can't see this ending well for Russia, Poland were already supplying Ukraine with loads of equipment, helping with their refugees and being used as the main place for the Nato allies to deliver their equipment to before moving it to Ukraine.
Pentagon: 'We have been crystal clear that we will defend every inch of NATO territory' Earlier, a US intelligence official was cited as the source of reports Russian missiles had crossed into Poland and hit a village, killing two. However, the Pentagon said it is unable to confirm these allegations. Press Secretary Patrick S Ryder said: "We are aware of the press reports alleging that two Russian missiles have struck a location inside Poland near the Ukraine border. "We have no information at this time to corroborate those reports but again, are taking them seriously and looking into them. And so I will make sure that we provide you with any updates as soon as we have them." He added that the Pentagon has "no information to corroborate" the reports. "I don't want to speculate or get into hypotheticals," the BBC reported Mr Ryder said. "When it comes to our security commitments and Article 5, we've been crystal clear that we will defend every inch of NATO territory."
Yep here we go, usual **** being rolled out. Russia's defence ministry said reports of Russian involvement were a "deliberate provocation aimed at escalating the situation". It added in a statement: "No strikes on targets near the Ukrainian-Polish state border were made by Russian means of destruction."
This deflects focus from the savage attacks on Ukraine today, possibly planned with that in mind. Everyone up in arms over Poland while the bastard continues to murder and maim in Ukraine without worldwide focus. He really is an evil bastard, I hope I see him rot
You would think the first question Poles would be asking is 'Why were these not shot down by the enhanced NATO air defences that must have been positioned at the border with Ukraine and Belarus?' Then they will want to confirm the missile type(s) and track from the launch point to identify the source. Even if these are shown to be Russian (and that isn't necessarily the only source - eg they could have been misfiring Ukrainian S-300 missiles) then I don't expect any Retaliatory strike by Poland or NATO. More likely to be a diplomatic response (maybe Poland recalls its Ambassador & PNG's the Russian Ambassador) and possibly an agreement with Zelensky to declare a Polish or NATO controlled No-Fly zone over the far west of Ukraine (deploying aircraft, missile batteries and AAA - thus allowing Ukraine to redeploy its assets. Maybe Germany releases a load more Gepard SPAAGs plus the Turkish Navy and Air Force patrol the Ukrainian Black Sea regions to protect grain shipments. Meanwhile Ukraine gets ATACAMS and probably whatever else it asks for.
