Absolutely I agree - and opinions are to be respected.
What I’m looking at is the league table and our position in it since NP took over.
We are worse off than we were under LJ. People may not like that FACT but it’s true.
Some people always get the accounts book out to argue that we are better off every time this type of debate pops up.
Barnsley are the richest club in the EFL outside the premiership - but I’m betting that their fans would rather their club be higher in the football pyramid than have as much money as they do have rotting away in a bank account somewhere.
I care about results and league position far over and above the accounts. Yes of course the money situation is important, but (for me) nowhere near as important as the league, so for me to justify NP over LJ because of money is just waffle in the wind.
Plenty of people agree with your view Wiz so it’s not an isolated one and I absolutely respect it. I just disagree.

Listening to Pearson congratulating Tins on his elevation was interesting.
'It makes sense rather the SCATTER GUN approach and money wasted'.

Well done Nige, say it how it is.
    SL won't like it though.

    That's great.
Put Nige in charge of the accounts then - and get a Football manager to sort things out on the pitch.

At 5pm on a Saturday I want to celebrate 3 points in the league, not a few £k in the bank but with relegation looming.

    Sorry R&W.
Shows a complete lack of understanding of both our perilous fiscal and playing situation.

I couldn't help but notice how Luton plan to replace their recent manager who has moved on to better things:

Luton's preference is for a younger candidate, with former Blackpool boss Neil Critchley, St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson - a former Luton player - and ex-Watford head coach Rob Edwards among those being linked with the post.

"One category we're probably not looking at is those managers who've got a lot of experience, have a certain way of doing things and have maybe been around the block a little bit. That's not our profile," said Sweet.

Do we need to take the same route when the almost inevitable comes to pass? That would rule out the likes of Warnock et al. Just a thought prior to the most important game of this season so far and it's possible repercussions at a critical time.

dont like to talk about new managers when we have one in in employment, but to even think about warnock is a step back it;would need to be someone young, hungry, and with fresh innotive ideas now whether thats mr landsdowns ideal i dont know, but surely it must be the way forward, you cant progress by looking back,

Pearson has said on record many times that he has had more funds made available to him than he has actually spent. His reasoning was that he wouldn’t waste money if he felt spending money didn’t make the squad better than it was. Therefore, his lack of spend means he feels the squad he has is good enough, his own words. So, they should be doing better after 2 years of him managing and coaching them than they are. He can’t continually blame the players, yet do nothing to improve them, that is the worst kind of manager or leader for my money. To use the RR analogy on another post, if all your manager at your firm did was berate you in public and didn’t coach and mentor you to be better, how motivated would you be……

I do not agree. Our financial situation is not great, but not many teams in this division are. Our squad is better than the results have been, that is down to NP and his team, end of!!

I agree with this policy. I know many on here were critical of some modern methods that LJ employed, but that is where the margin gains can be made. Too many on this forum are dinosaurs who don’t understand or value that thinking. The top managers, Pep, Klop, Nagelsman, Wenger etc, embrace new and innovative training methods. They don’t always reap maximum rewards, but it’s better to try. The likes of Warnock, Pearson and the other dinosaur managers are probably still in the corners, headers and volleys for training, camp.

I have often said NP did well back then, but has since dramatically failed to follow up.doesnt seem to have it. His fall back is blaming the players in situation s like Lincoln, He started with a team that was not a regular grouping, before they got it together a quick goal unsettled them and the second was a killer punch so early on ........... HE NP was responsible for that and blames the players, and to boot threatens them by saying if not in the team on Sat they are to blame ................... his interview had a self opinionated laid back aura
Huddersfield WBA and Blackpool are not likely to hang around at the bottom .. around us is 4 or 5 teams most likely heading for mid season finish Unless something amazingly drastic happens after the World cup ... next 9 games I fear the worst!

We do, and aside from the Play Off final, now way back in 2008 and the LC Semi a few years ago it's been the same for decades.
Players and Managers come and go. The only constant for most of that time is the owner
    Enough said.
