****ing toe! Give me strength If he's out again because of a sore toe then I'd be sending him back to Everton on 1st Jan. We need lads willing to put their bodies on the line for the club
Not expecting any points this evening unfortunately. Key positions left short in recruitment meaning it will be square pegs in rounds holes again. Need to sort it Jan.
How or why is everyone getting injured. Simms seems increasingly like a sick note ah well, roll on tonight. Last game for a while.
It will be interesting to see if this good young prospect makes it onto the pitch tonight. As has been said it highlights the injury crisis. At 15 he could still not come good, as physically he is still developing. I think I read he is a mag or his family are and they are being pushy. Money will talk in the end. My take is that in due course he is more likely to get 1st team experience with us, rather that the skunks or another Premiership team. But if the Dad/Agent want cash now...
Same. If we really do have a lot of new injuries, then I can only see a regulation home win to nil with us barely laying a glove on them The club have gambled massively on the 2nd half of the season. If we lose Stewart in Jan then we are in a relegation fight IMHO
Just watched the conference, I know Mowbray isn't someone who usually gets excited in interviews but bloody hell he seemed really fed up. Makes you wonder how many players will actually be missing tonight, I know there are some sh1tty sickness bugs going round too so may be that rather than injuries.
Unless someone comes in with a stupidly high offer for Stewart then we shouldn't be selling him in January. Sure we may lose him for less at the end of the season but achieving a stable position in the league this year is more important and we will only do that if we keep players like Ross.
On Roker Report page they are saying they think Cirkin and Evans are out injured. They have Huggins in for Cirkin and Hume in for Onion. Neil and Embleton in midfield and Amad replacing Simms who may also be injured. It’s a poor team on paper.
Starting to feel like the lead up to those covid games last season, no idea who’s going to be available and desperate for the break, only saving grace is no matter what happens we can’t drop into the bottom 3 before the break, still think with everyone back we’ll move up the table mind but I think we all need to break now
PRE BRUM INJURY CRAIC Tony Mowbray has admitted that the squad has become even more depleted with injuries. But Niall Huggins will travel with the squad tonight to Birmingham, as will 15-year-old sensation Chris Rigg. HUGGINS UPDATE “The one positive I could tell you about is that Niall Huggins is back on the grass. I think he’s been out for over a year. Played a couple of games for the Under 21s then played at St James’ Park the other week and got 90 minutes. I think it was his second 90 minutes but he’s back now training with the first team.” SIMMS “I think it's nice to see Ellis back with his boots on and with three or four appearances now. I think he's still way short of the match fitness required to make a big impact on the team other than from the substitutes bench. I thought we saw on Saturday, without being too critical, it's hard to get to the intensity levels at the start of a football match instead of coming on after 60 minutes after it’s died down a little bit.” PLAYERS LEAVING? “Everybody’s for sale aren’t they? And I was a big advocate at my previous club of selling assets and reinvesting back into the team to make the team better. No team stays together for more than six, seven years these days you know? You sold one hero who’s scored loads of goals and did really well? Doesn't matter because there's another one around the corner. And that's what football is.” RETURNING LADS “For me, I'm looking forward to Ross Stewart on the training ground. I’m looking forward to Aji on the training ground. I'm looking forward to Ballard hopefully on the training ground you know, Gooch back on the training ground.” DECISIONS TO BE MADE “There's maybe seven or eight footballers that I think that just about all of them could start in our team and Luke O’Nien you thought in this instance because of the suspension, It's not an ideal situation for us. I’m trying to understand the difference between development and winning. And it’s a difficult task particularly with the depletion of the squad and yet I enjoy the challenge.”
