Good Morning. It's Friday 11th November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Is Klich surplus to requirements After five and a half years of loyal service, and 174 appearances to his name, Mateusz Klich has become somewhat of a cult hero at Elland Road; but as we know, all good things have to come to an end. At 32, his best days are behind him, as it was evident to see midweek, as the combative midfielder was the only Leeds player who failed to win a single duel all night, whilst his teammates all pitched in (Ayling 6, Harrison 6, Llorente 4, Gyabi 4, Gelhardt 4, Joseph 3, Greenwood 3, Perkins 3, Gnonto 2, Firpo 2, Hjelde 2). In all honesty, Klich has not been the same player since returning from burnout towards the end of the 20/21 campaign. His performances last season were way down on what was expected of him, and have gradually worsened with time. The former Polish International has eighteen months left on his contract, but in reality, would it be fairer to all concerned to cut him loose in January? please log in to view this image Gnonto or Harrison Jesse Marsch has some tough decisions to make on Saturday, as Leeds go in search of their third consecutive league win in a row; none more so than choosing whether or not to drop Jack Harrison. The soon-to-be 26yo hasn't been the same, since being linked to a £35m move to St James Park in the Summer, and the emergence of Willy Gnonto has now put his place in the starting line-up at risk. Harrison's midweek performance was poor. He may have put himself about more than any other Leeds player, winning six out of 20 duels (next best was Gyabi who had 11 duels), but he lost possession an astonishing 26 times, more than anybody else on the pitch. Should Marsch stick with the team that beat Liverpool and Bournemouth, or drop Harrison, giving Gnonto his first League start in a Leeds shirt? please log in to view this image Sky Sports Presenter predicts shock Leeds win Sky Sports presenter and pundit Jeff Stelling has predicted a shock Leeds win this weekend at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Leeds have a particularly poor record in the Capital over recent years, but having beaten Liverpool and Bournemouth in previous weeks, the sports broadcaster believes Marsch's men can make it a hat-trick of league wins for Jesse Marsch's men. Being without Son Heung-min will be a major blow for the hosts. His link-up play and devastating form in front of goal are just some of the reasons why the 30yo is one of the first names down on the Spurs team sheet. According to Stelling "Tottenham have been struggling for form recently, with three losses from their last four Premier League games." "Leeds shocked Liverpool the other week and produced a great comeback against Bournemouth at the weekend, so I think they could stun Spurs before the World Cup." "Spurs 1-2 Leeds." please log in to view this image
I'd keep Klich for this season, if he's happy to stay, not exactly got a squad bulging at the seams. I think Harrison is finished at Leeds, his heads not here, not sure Gnoto is a starter week in week out yet though but more of a threat than Jack atm. Has to be Sinisterra when he's fit. Shut up Jeff, please. Read this morning Conte is 53, thought he was in his 60's.
Morning all. Not surprised of the talk of the 49 bank making their move shortly. Severals of our threadbare squad are over the hill and need replacing asap. Bamford, Klich, Firpo, Forshaw, possibly Dallas, we don't know yet, Harrison done. That's a lot of rebuilding and Radz doesn't have the means to do it and Harrisons fee will only go a bit of the way. Relegation of course might change that as most of squad would would be heading for the exit door so anyones guess who'd rebuild then
Harrison has been poor on the ball recently.....but.....his work off the ball is integral to how we play. Gnonto can't play 90 minutes and I'd rather him come on and terrorise a tired defence after an hour rather than tire with them from the start. Zurich mostly used him off the bench and so do Italy. The 21's game I saw against Southampton showed he was ****ed after an hour. The lad is an impact sub. So Harrison should be given the nod imo purely for his workrate. Klich should be let go in the summer and Greenwood is his natural replacement in the squad. Gyabi will hopefully replace Greenwood's current status in the squad. Next summer the recruitment should be a striker and a couple of left backs. I'm also in favour of replacing Koch, Llorente, Firpo and Cooper. Hjelde needs games at a higher level. Cresswell needs to prove himself at Millwall. Give Dramah a new contract and loan him out for a couple of seasons to increase his value. Give McKinstrey a new contract and loan him back out too.
As is often the case, 100% spot on with all that. I’d rather left back and striker came in January, but I won’t hold my breath. Drameh continues to look too good for the 21s. If he’s going to be third choice it’s not helping him or us. Haven’t seen much of mckinstrey
If both Gelhardt and Bamford are still injured, I wonder whether who'd be next in line? Joseph or Perkins?
McKinstrey is on loan at Motherwell and is scoring and assisting every game. He's getting man of the match reviews every game. Sounds promising so sign him up long term and send him out to improve value or gain the experience to come back and be a player for us.
No Llorente or Rodrigo in the Spanish WC squad. So by my reckoning that's only 3 going... Rasmus Aaronson Tyler Adams The rest get a nice long holiday on full pay
Look what state we were in after the Queen died and we had a month off. We've only just got our mojo back and now we have a break again. It's **** being us.
I know bud, we get WJ's weekly update on him. I'm just not so interested that i can bring myself to watch the sweaty's league
The things i do in the name of research. Just watched his two goals. First was a cross from a free kick that went in. The second nice touch and turn but poor keeping. Then read an interview with him from last week, talking about his time in Leeds. Takeaways: - Scottish goalkeeping still leaves something to be desired. - McKinstrey talked about his Leeds career in the past tense. - 6 months left on his contract.
Afternoon all Klich is useful we want depth he gives us some and he’s usually injury free season after season. He has no sale value we should keep. Llorente and Forshaw they’re the type who should be moved on.
Forshaw will either run contract down or get a big payout to go early. Unlikely there’s a team in world football that would take him
