Not much in common between Premier League Brighton and L1 Charlton, apart from us both hating Palarse <ok> <hug>

This game should bring a few bums back to seats at the Valley :emoticon-0177-toivo

I expect you’re scurrying down the bookies now to place your £2 bet on Brighton <laugh>

Enjoy the We Hate Palace More Than You song coming from both ends of The Valley.

I'll stick it on us as the odds will be decent.

I'd go if I could, if they had played it on Tuesday as normal, but Reg will have to do without my support. In fact I'll be offline until nearly midnight, so won't know anything about anything.

    It's my work bash today.
Won't be a late or very boozy one, but I won't be able to get to the Valley afterwards.
Probably not a bad thing. I' like to know how fans will take the latest strange twists in our ownership saga, but I'm afraid we will take a dreadful lashing on the pitch.

Lovely old ground. Might be the beers, but I love The Valley :emoticon-0152-heart

You can love Charlton Athletic and love beer in equal measure.
But only beer actually gives pleasure (as well as pain the next morning).
With CAFC you just cut straight to the pain.

How could I doubt this club would get through when we were rolled over by Stockport recently. Sounds a real hero's together performance. Ans into the hat we go.

Our name must be on that three handled Cup.

It seems the politics and the football diverged for once. That'll teach me to fall asleep before half time.
"Addicks to Victory" must still be ringing around the Valley...

I just read through this thread and have had to almost laugh out loud. Oh the highs and lows of posting. You go from despair to almost euphoria {I feel your pain in normal circumstances} in the space of half a page. This supporter thing is really hard isn't it........

During the 2015-16 season matters got so bad that I felt (like many others I suspect) that we crossed a threshold, beyond which individual results ceased to matter enough to dispel the toxic mixture of anger and despair at what was going on off the pitch.

For the last few weeks now I've been feeling that way again.
Let down, deceived and taken for a ride by somebody who appeared to be offering some hope of a better future, but who turns out to be just another facet of the low life that is destroying our football Club.

Perhaps the lads played out of their skins tonight to take it to penalties. I don't know.
But in the end knocking Brighton out of the EFL Cup makes no difference. We're still in the grip of bunglers and scum.
