Tbf billy i worked for a demo firm from the south end at the time of the riots and had the displeasure of helping to knock down many lovely buildings in tocky.
Its ****in sad how loads of Liverpool city heritage and buildings have vanished.
It wasn't just the riots that robbed Liverpool of a lot of its architectural heritage. I can still remeber streets and squares of Georgian houses around the Hope Street and Womens Hospital area that would match anything in Mayfair - if they hadn't already been let go to rack and ruin.

Even those Georgian ones that are left around Upper Parly and Catherine St which have all now been done up really nicely they wanted to knock down in the 70's and 80's the ****ing idiots.
a friend of mine bought one about ten years back (because he's got 8 kids) and it's just amazing now he's done it up. Think it's got 6 or 7 bedrooms, 2 huge reception rooms an almighty cellar and is right on the park. Think he got it for 200grand which is pretty good value eh
