just on the chavs. the final price paid for cheslea was as follows: Purchase of club 2.5 billion. Funds for betterment of the chav existence 1.75 bllion (as in they must spend this on hte club post purchase for new satium or whatever) It should be clear Chelsea did not cost 4.25billion. they have agreed to invest in the company to the tune of 1.75bil to include new stadium. The actual sale price was 2.5billion.
no, that'd be like trying to say they are 4 uk involved consortiums. They were global players coming together. the Winner has a very hefty involvement of swiss and equity firm as well as the sports guys form the us. Do we know exactly who funded that equity frim that is involved really? no we don't. there could be all sorts of money from all over the globe involved indirectly we need to be careful not to boil this down to just the front face on the portfolio. LFC could be bought by anyone, it could be fronted by anyone. the point that the fans groups could try to insist on here is a "similar" deal for FSG to sell up. X money to FSG and its ****ty investors (lebron will make a killing) and Y money to completion of anfield, regeneration of the area (Properly), funding for womesn team etc etc. Les be clear: anfield needs another 400mil ( kop 100mil) (SKD stand, 200mil) (rail links 30mil) move road, buy up real estate etc (70mil) to get us to an 80k stadium theres masses of change required the area needs massive regeneration as council won't do it. it needs to be for the people not just tourists People should really focus on this: Are FSG going to take the 10x profit a 3 billion sale price would be and then say to new owners you must put down agreed infrastructure to do these things to turn this into a global icon? I sincerely doubt it. they'll take their profit and **** off.
As I said yesterday, there are moral dilemmas attached to everything these days. Dig deep enough and there will be something that somebody, somewhere will take exception to.
Any perceived apology is an investment in our relationship that will make it of higher value in the future
In every occasion where owners have ignored fans the owners eventually get their way and fans suffer. when fans walked out of anfield over 77 pound tickets what did FSG do? a great victory for fans? cheaper seas with frozen prices and all that? No fsg cut investment spend and delayed next phase of anfield regeneration by 3 years. A very club I've seen where fans go nuts at owners its not gone well. its not gone well at utd that is for damned sure.
Not sure really works in this scenario though does it? If the owners have sold the club, fans can protest and complain as much as they want, fsg have sold it and taken the money. Makes no diff to them
There's fan presence on the board now. They have the power of veto in some circumstances, maybe this comes under that? The club is unlikely to be sold without putting forward who the intended buyers are. It won't be sold behind everyone's backs. FSG backed down on ticket prices, furlough and the Super League following fan protest. Why are some putting out a defeatist attitude now?
Not sure how much they paid for Chelsea though - didn't they buy them at a discount? No doubt that there will be hedge fund / PE firms wanting to buy LFC but I just question how much will they actually invest in this club to achieve success.
There is fan representation but I highly doubt they will be able to stop any takeover simply because they're not owners nor are shareholders. They can definitely try their best to influence the decision but they would have no power.
They only get input to fan facing decisions. This is not fan facing. Same stadium, same conditions er not one fan is affected ... in theory
You could have said the same when the owners wanted to join the Super League. 'Fans can't stop it happening' - oh yes they can. Never underestimate fan power. If enough people mobilise, anything can happen. Influence is power.
