6 out of the 12 Scots prem are vying for the euro place just 3 points in it! better win next one or else!
A new manager coming in now allows them a month to work with the players during the WC break. Allowing him to assess what is needed when the transfer window opens. It’s a now or never moment tbh! A heavy defeat to Watford will make SL think hard.
It was amazing that they replaced with a completely inexperienced Dean Holden, smashing bloke but the task/mess he inherited was to big for him to handle, I was happy Deano got the job personally but none of us knew how badly run, debt ridden and ripped apart our club was, we are still suffering the reverberations from that time under Nige.
Are we? The idea of floating around league 1 doesn't bear thinking about!! It was nice to have a few seasons where relegation was never a threat, even if we did have to sell (record profits) our best players!! Shame that's not still the case
I'm just showing debt and revenue figures, there is a lot more info on the link and it started long before Covid ~ Bristol City competed in its sixth consecutive season in the EFL Championship in the 2020/21 season. It was however its most challenging, with the club finishing 19th, its lowest position during its current Championship stay. This ultimately led to the sacking of Dean Holden and hiring of Nigel Pearson. A run to the FA Cup fifth round was one of very few positives in the season. Bristol City finances took a sizeable hit as the loss of much needed gate receipts and lower player sales saw losses rise to £38m, the highest in its history. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image https://www.thefootballboardroom.com/2021/12/29/bristol-city-finances-2021/
even SL doubted that he should have got rid of DH we have never got back to where DH left ! NP has struggled in all areas of his tenure ... there are more than a few managers littering the scene that get a reputation for one really good part / couple years of their career then just fall into mediocrity ...... !
The idea of floating around league 1 doesn't bear thinking about!! It was nice to have a few seasons where relegation was never a threat, even if we had to spend on 65 new players. Shame that's not still the case
A strangely balanced, unbiased and sensible post. @Wiz - please check - I think RPs account has been hacked……..
Why show the finances and not show the comparative league positions Wiz? The finances are dealt with by the suits and banks. The League position is football management.
The full facts are all there via the link as I mentioned in my post at the top, time, space and and my lack of patience. Also if you check post#23 you will find I've already displayed the final league positions.
