Good Morning. It's Thursday 10th November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Cup heartache after late strike KO's Leeds

Boubacar Traore's spectacular strike, five minutes from time was all that separated Wolves and a Leeds side who had made 10 changes coming into the match. To their credit, Jesse Marsch's fledglings had more than held their own against a much older and experienced Wolves side, but just as it looked the game was going to penalties, the Malian International's deadly strike from the edge of the 'D' settled matters.

Leeds dominated the opening 25 minutes. Klich, Harrison and Gelhardt all had efforts well saved by Montenegrin International Matija Sarkic. The hosts finally started to settle into the game midway through the first half but rarely seriously threatened the Leeds goalmouth.

Both sides had opportunities to get on the scoresheet after the break, but a combination of fine goal keeping, and last gasp defending kept the scoreline goalless. Just when it looked like the match would be settled by spot kicks, Boubacar Traore struck. Greenwood was robbed of possession close to the halfway line. Collins threaded a forward ball to Podence down the right wing. His cut back was graciously received by Traore, whose first time effort flew past the despairing dive of Robles.

    The future is White

It's fair to say that Leeds have invested heavily in their academy since Radrizzani took control. Their current crop of youngsters are taking no prisoners in Premier League 2. They are undefeated, and already six points ahead of Southampton after just nine games (20 games in a season). Astonishingly, they have already netted 33 times, and have an aggregate goal difference of +21.

Much of their success this season comes courtesy of their new recruits Perkins, Joseph and Gyabi. Their performances last night were solid, and if they continue in this rich vein of form, it's not going to be long until Jesse Marsch will have difficult selection decisions to make.

Add into that equation Messrs Hjelde, Summerville, Gnonto, Greenwood and Gelhardt, and suddenly we realise that the future at Elland Road has never looked so bright.

How does our current crop of youngsters compare to O'Leary's babes of 2000/01?

Is the writing on the wall for Harrison

Whilst it's normally considered a good thing to retain your place in a starting line-up, there are situations when this is not the case, as Jack Harrison found out last night. Marsch made ten changes at Molyneax, with the 25yo the only player to retain his place.

It has been suggested that his inclusion was punishment for his recent ineffectiveness on the field, though if that is the case, he did himself no favours last night. Off the field, contract negotiations continue with as much gusto as his performances on it. Has his head been turned by Newcastle? Does he want out of Elland Road, or is he just going through a poor patch of form?

    Morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Harrison cannot play on the right so if that’s where Marsch wants to play him, then sell him we have better.

Comparing the present kids to DoLs kids is silly as so far none of the present crop have broken through properly yet. I am a big fan of our kids but they cannot be compared to Smith, Kewill, Woodgate, Hart etc yet. Those kids all ended up as full Internationals so far the present crop are junior internationals :emoticon-0147-emo:

Last night showed we have a very good keeper in Robles, we also have top potential in Gyabi, Perkins, Joseph, Joffy, Greenwood, Summerville, Gnonto, Hjelde. However Harrison was pants again and tactically how can you afford to have 5 or 6 of our players diving into one of their players high up the pitch? If they get the ball good it’s a bonus but if he gets the ball out to a team mate we are fked leaving the defence overrun.

Thought the press was poorly executed last night. They were pressing in ones and twos and not shutting off the passing lanes. I genuinely thought the front four were terrible last night and Gyabi didn't grasp his job either on the press.

Ironically Harrison and Klich were the two that actually pressed at the right time.

Nathan Jones was in charge of Stoke for 38 games and had a win ratio of 15% only winning 6 games. Marsch has a terrible win ratio at Leeds with 30% so Jones make Marsch look like Pep ffs

"It's been well publicised Marcelo watched 26 Luton games and two Stoke games, so he's well drilled on what our usual formation is," said Jones, who tasted victory for the first time as Potters boss after beginning his reign with two defeats."

Morning all. Didn’t watch last night, couldn’t be bothered to be honest. Not sure if that makes me a poor supporter but I cannot stomach what has been done to the cups by greed. Growing up the FA cup weekends were special for me and even the old league cup matches. That’s when clubs were interested in trying to win trophies rather than the present concept of lining their pockets. One of my fondest memories was attending the villa Leeds final with my dad. Ok we were hammered but still had a special day we still chat about. Football is fcked

Yeah I was there so it’s my fault :emoticon-0138-think

Jannson was sent off. I had to park miles away from the ground so left before Alioski’s consolation goal.

    **** day all round <doh>

I watched the game last night, apart from the first 7 or 8 minutes (when we slaughtered them) it turned into a borefest. The youngsters tried hard but there wasn't much end product. Klich was good but his lack of pace is there for all to see. Llorente scares the crap out of me every time he has the ball, he must have passed it to them at least 5 times. It was a nothing game from Firpo, created nothing and didn't have much defending to do. As for Harrison, I've been saying for weeks that he's bad but last night was his worst performance. He seemed to be trying but he was terrible. I read that he didn't get off the bench when Summerville scored the winner on Saturday, maybe he's intent on a transfer. Maybe the lack of an England call-up has really deflated him, he just seems to have regressed so much in such a short space of time. I don't think he'll start on Saturday.

But back then for most overseas fans it was a novelty to get over mainly due to cost. So for us to watch the fifty or sixty buses carrying Leeds fans, waving at the players on the team coach to them walking into the pitch. All great memories here. ****e game but I’ve seen a few of those since on my travels
