    You're absolutely correct that when somethings against the law, it should be punished accordingly. However we're not debating whether the law should be upheld (which it should be), but whether or not that particular law is flawed - I think that it is and should be changed. It's a tough topic really because there are very reasonable points on both sides; and I'm of the opinion that in the big picture it doesn't do race relations any favours to have a bunch of racists feel like they're having their opinions silenced in favour of the people they hate in the first place.
