Marsch alluded to this a few weeks ago when questioned about the left back situation. He said something along the lines of Struijk playing excellently at left back and deservedly keeps his place due to his performances. He then said that playing Struijk at left back allows us to periodically shift to a back 3 at times when we have the ball. I've watched for it since and it doesn't happen every time but it certainly does occur in certain situations. That would allow Kristensen to become width on the right, Harrison playing just inside in tandem with Aaronson and Summerville/Sinisterra providing the width on the right. Sounds great but with Struijk tucked inside it allows a huge gap at LB as Summerville hasn't quite grasped that aspect just yet. On the other side Kristensen does everything he can to get back and although Harrison is getting pelters at the moment he is always there doing his defensive duties. Anyway...that's just something I picked up on in a press conference a few weeks ago.
Harrison is shyte on the right so either don’t play him or play him on the left as Jimmy prefers the right just like Raphinha. Unbalancing my fkg head is the only unbalancing Marsh is doing so far. Countless times Struijk has been the furthest forward and doesn’t get the ball in or loses it on the wing near the corner flag, so doesn’t always sit back? It’s confusing to me what they are trying to do and guess it’s confusing the players too at times
Various outlets in the States and Europe talking about Leeds trying to get a deal over the line for 26yo Argentine Striker Sebastian Driussi who plays for Austin in the MLS. This season he has played 37 games with 25 goals and 7 assists. Yeh MLS blah blah but when you dig you can see he was big in the Argentine Prem league for River Plate. He wento Russia but due to politics he bought out his own contract and went to the USA. Looking at him on you tube shows he is a tough tackling, pressing, skilfull player who scores goals. As a kid 2013 to 2017 he scored 21 in 67 games for River Plate, not bad. Then Zenit St Petersburg from 2017 to 2021 scoring another 21 goals…… valued at less than £20m sounds like a Leeds price for a January window?
Hasn't MLS finished now Doc ? If so we could sign him now and then register on 1st January could we not ? Sorry I'm just pissing myself laughing at the thought of us actually doing something smart for once.
My wife gets so annoyed with me pointing out how much I dislike her every time her face appears on TV and now she’s on that Sainsbury advert it’s even worse
