shame i’m working , about five miles from bangor on dee , best meeting of the year for the course, be heavy ground amount of rain there’s been , so stamina very much tested .
we’ve a concrete pour on up at the dam , so no chance of early finish <doh>

Not with blind faith, but Galia Des Liteaux (13,25 7/2 bet365) and Nayaty (15,05 5/1) can do well. One for big odds Run To Milan (14,00 18/1 e/w WH four places, 16/1 sky five places).

Best to take UC's selections very seriously as he has struck good form after a spell in the doldrums, the latter condition accurately describes my present situation!
So, for a lark, have chosen the aptly-named Notachance, in the Handicap Chase at Bangor-On-Dee (14:00), for no other reason than the gelding's name is so appropriate for my selections of late. Tom Cannon rides for the Alan King yard, which can't be too bad!
Best price is only 4/1, so there could be a bit of money for the Mahler gelding? We'll have to wait and see.

Just the 1 runner for forum favourite, Nicky Henderson, at Cheltenham on Friday. Let's hope for more from the great man on Sat and Sun.

Have a good day at Bangor, Morky. Nothing for me, at the meet, but I note that the Devizes crew are seemingly trying to win the final 2 races at the fixture.

Oh and while I'm on thought I'd point out (think I'm contractually obliged to) that Jonbon could make his fencing bow as early as next Monday (at Exeter). Could be a corker if everything gets declared (almost certainly won't happen though) as also entered, in the contest, are Pentland Hills, Unexpected Party and McFabulous.

Re Jonbon and the 'Mehgan Markle', at the Festival. This entry has resulted in a few bookie chappies cutting his price - cor blimey any old excuse!!! Now as low as 3/1.

Any reason he wasn't entered at Cheltenham on Saturday?

Had an excellent day. What a great little course and set up. Made it into the winners enclosure twice with Ivar and Maximilian. Talk of the Potato race for Max.

Paddy Power have paid out ante post Arkle bets on Jonbon after seeing a schooling video. Clearly they hadn’t taken much on him <laugh>

It will be interesting to see the final field for that Warwick race. Jonbon has 7 possible opponents, at the moment, but several have alternative engagements. It certainly doesn't look, right now, like Monrimal will go to Warwick as he has been declared at Cheltenham on Saturday. You do have to wonder if come next Wednesday you will be looking at a 3 or 4 horse race.

Re Warwick, next Wednesday, incidentally, Alan King has some really, really nice horses entered including Klitschko, Ernest Grey and On Se Calme. I spoke about the latter earlier in the week and think she is potentially hugely exciting. Very, very eyecatching, as well that King has put her in the race run in memory of his former mentor and boss.

Hopefully it won’t be a walkover again. I still ask myself why Jonbon isn’t in the grade 2 novice chase at Cheltenham on Saturday.
