Ronnie Radford, scorer of one of the most iconic goals in FA Cup history, has died at the age of 79. RIP
Bill “Arthur Fowler” Treacher too, apparently. I’m now wondering if he swept all the ornaments off the mantelpiece as he went…?
So sad to hear this news, Nazareth were a great live band and Dan's unique vocals were a perfect fit...
https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/...bunbury-schools-festival-dies-aged-76-1344630 I was shocked to hear of the death of David English, a man who more than anyone contributed to the England cricket teams World Cup & T20 wins. Many of our current stars came through his Bunbury Schools Festival to further their careers and several of the T20 winning team wore black armbands in his memory. He was a remarkable man and one of the most entertaining figures in the world of sport. From managing the Bee Gees and Eric Clapton to exploits in the movie industry he was a gifted storyteller and I remember listening to him on Hawksbee & Jacobs Talksport show at the Cheltenham Festival a few years back which was one of the funniest interviews I've heard on radio. He'd obviously had a liquid lunch and once he started telling a rather risque and totally un-PC story there was no stopping him, the shows producer must have been having palpitations as he continued to rattle off the tale and with H&J desperately trying, unsuccessfully, to curtail him. It was live radio as you rarely hear it but so much fun which is what he was all about. He'll be sadly missed. RIP Bunbury...
20 years ago at this very time I’d just got home from work, only to get an urgent phone call that my old man had had a heart attack and was being rushed to hospital. Sped down to Ealing hospital and was ushered in to the waiting room, where after 5 minutes a Doctor came in and said the very sentence. “I’m sorry, we did everything we could but sadly we couldn’t save him” Still remember that sentence, still remember the feeling of shock and disbelief, and still remember seeing him laying there, looking older than his 59 years and lifeless. RIP Dad……still miss ya x PS I’m still trying to be a clever ****, that’s why no one like me
