True mate but then what if it's reciprocated, and our well-behaved fans get their cash taken, at least Dick Turpin wore a mask
You can’t force anyone to hand over coins but you can refuse them entry as the stadium is a privately owned facility and the owners can place on there a condition of entry. Don’t give your coins up-stay outside. Simple!
Going to be a hard sell to people. The stadium was designed to have away fans in the South Stand. The Police cells are there, it's an obvious exit out through Sheepfolds to the train or metro BUT you have the problem that it's become "home end" and you risk upsetting folk whoever you move. North Stand tricky because you have BCB. West Stand is out due to all the corporates. The obvious answer is South East corner, but then you are evicting all the families/bairns from the Family Zone
Who wanted them in the north stand upper in the first place? was always going to end badly in my opinion. At least in the lower bowl the home fans would keep any ****ers in check. As they did since the stadium opened pretty much.
This is just a clever move from SAFC to get into the news and create discussion ... ... it will make people think twice about arriving with coins. Job done.
I think Quinny said something about the stadium looking bad when the away end is empty. Also, it was something about keeping them apart so as to avoid trouble (arf)
That rings a bell. Can’t disagree with him but it was still a stupid idea and the negatives far outweigh the positive of a fuller-looking lower bowl. (Fnar fnar!)
Agree. It was probably done at a time when we were selling out anyway so less obvious about the lower bowl I guess The problem is when you try to undo what has been done.
How would that work with us who are displaced from the SEC? Do we go in the PC for the same price structure we pay now?
Thankfully I’m not the one to make those decisions Some home fans will be upset at the move, no matter what.
Sat up there for the Keane years. Absolute ****e. I can never understand the fascination with wanting to be up there. I've recently moved from the SWC to the SEC. So sitting there is very new to me, question is, can I he arsed with the chew on again of moving. Where I am is canny, im 6'3 so need a bit leg room, luckily to the right of me is a natural break in the seat plan so there's a gap where the seats can't meet because of the angle, basically a 15 inch gap and small step. Can I be arsed with all the chew of shifting so pissed up people can have a bit back and forth with a few Reading fans? not really. Natural place as designed was the south stand. In hindsight, away fans should have been in the West stand just off the corner of the North stand so if it was a poor away following, it wouldn't look naff on the telly. I can see why short wanted the full bottom bowl all home fans, but it hasn't worked.
take the coins but give them a drink ticket or something to cash in at the stadium, anything under a pound no refund ticket, make sure they are aware before setting off
