Be Bruno, Joelinton and Willock for me, with Maddison replacing Willock IF that transfer was to ever materialise. Likewise I would still go all out for Diaby regardless of Miggy's form at present.
When everyone was fit that's what Howe played as first choice. What you getting salty for, it's only a discussion, we don't all have to agree.
I thought we instantly looked poorer yesterday when Shelvey came on. He just isn't suited to the way Howe wants to play.
Good thing Shelvey is a cripple then, or we'd be ****ed. Don't be sensitive cupcake. Let's have a poll
To be fair mate, that was last season before Eddie had a pre-season to introduce this worldly concept of professional athletes actually running. He's also seen the difference Bruno in that deep role makes compared to Shelvey. Bruno hits a pass out wide to Miggy from 50 yards and Miggy gets it, Shelvey does it and 9 times out of 10 the ball boy gets it.
We will see after the world cup i suppose, if everyone is available. I do think a defensive midfielder should be one of our next signings, to replace Shelvey, i'm not even a massive fan of him just with what we have right now, i think he's a starter. Ultimately we want two other world class CM's to go with Bruno, i like Joelinton but let's face it he isn't world class, be a very good squad player though.
Was walking back into the box when the S'hampton player waltzed through to score. Having said that, the whole defence was poor there - not sure why Manq and Burn were on their "wrong" sides ?
It's all about understanding the workings of the roles mate. As far as I'm concerned Joelinton is playing world class as a box2box midfielder. No-one else could do what he currently does the way he does it. Yes we could get someone who will score more, someone who will create more, someone who will rinse people more. They won't disrupt as much as him, track back as much as him, cover as much ground as him. As for the defensive midfielder - You're talking about replacing Bruno with that one. He is a deep lying playmaker. He just bursts forward loads. We need to sometimes just appreciate what we have.
We need people who do that "running" because we have a CDM who wonders forward, we need that CDM up the pitch because of his creative capabilities, we need people fast on their feet to clog those gaps. If we had Shelvey, as we saw yesterday, they instantly score.
Thought that the goal was down to a lack of communication between Anderson and Manquillo and then Anderson not really having much defensive nous. Trippier and Almiron have it spot on. Almiron is always tracking back to help and the two work together well as a pair. Actually felt that defensively we made errors throughout the game. Botman played some really slack balls from the back and Burn was beaten on a number of occasions. Almiron and Wood were tending to give the ball away a lot as well just through poor passing.
According to Haslam the wannabe Mackem and his arse licking post on the Soton board, we're a 7-10 place team. Sorry but bollocks, simple fact is we're in 3rd place on merit, its like saying Arsenal aren't a top 4 team cos they finished 5th last season, they're 1st on merit too.
Haslem is like a ****ing ghost on this forum; he wanders from board to board chatting dung. He also lives on the Wirral.
Funilly enough, they had a tv advert on at halftime during the match yesterday and had the little'un asking what it was
