LOLS I had not seen this in the europa as really... who pays attention unless you are in it Apparently if you don't win your group now in europa (aka disrespecting comp and playing kids and ****s who don't care) then you have to play a 3rd placed team dropping from CL. Man utd's reward for ****ing up their Europa group... If you top the group you go into last 16 finish second and you must do the slog of a play off round of 32 v a cl team. the irony for utd is that they lost only one game away to sociedad 3-1 on the opening round (like us) and won every game since (like us) but on head to head Sociedad win the group. 1-0 with ronaldo on the last day rather than hockeying their direct rivals = nightmare draw. Arsenal won their group so not only did they avoid this nightmae but they also possibly get a much easier draw in last 16.
5 wins is usually enough to win the group - we came up against a team that is currently on fire, so we did well enough considering our indifferent form in the league. I'd rather we didn't play Real, but we're overdue a win against them. If we haven't found form by mid February we might as well give in anyway.
I didn't see the draw but Napoli had to be kept away from Inter and AC Milan, so not as straightforward as swapping us for Napoli?
As LFC and Chelsea have been drawn on opposite sides of the CL draw (the last 16 is over quite a long time) there is now no window to play the LFC and Chelsea game in. same for spurs and city apparently. It looks like dodgy refs will be brought out to ensure there's a cup weekend or midweek going free for LFC.
