It's one defeat. No-one was making statements like this when we beat Huddersfield.
Said it for years - defeats always put the supposed issues at the club under the microscope.
Mate of mine had a bee in his bonnet for years about Madrox. Was fuming at not knowing who owned what percentages. I challenged him as to whether anyone was walking out the stadium last December, having beaten Sheff Wed 5-0 and discussing ownership percentages.

It's the same about this no supposed unbalanced squad and lack of experience (cue the "Alex Neil was right" posts). We always seem to be demanding an explanation when we lose a game.

Whether we sign more players, or we don't, we will be fine this season. Absolutely fine

Yep. Flatters to deceive. Quick but lightweight and easily isolated and negated.

Whilst KLD might want us to be sustainable I also don’t see him or our supporters being prepared to wait 2-3 years in the Championship mind.
Really poor performance from the team and the manager yesterday.
We need to circle the wagons and dig in down at Birmingham and then we need to get the likes of Ballard, Stewart and Huggins back ready for after the WC.
We need to sort our home form out pronto as it’s shambolic.

I think it will be 2-3 years as an absolute minimum before we are challenging for promotion

I agree. Could well be looking at 4-5 years before having any chance

You’re entitled to your opinion mate.
Don’t see that being attractive to KLD but he won’t be getting crowds of 35-40k for home games if it takes that sort of timescale.

If people see progress, they will keep coming. Is anyone really clamouring for the days of scraping about for 10 wins a season and securing 4th bottom on the last day of the season?

I'll happily take a few years in this division, growing a squad capable of competing in the PL in the same way that Brentford, Brighton & Wolves have done in recent years

Agreed; nothing wrong with young talented young players but they need seasoned pros around them.

    5-a-side will not cut it.

Also being striker-less means we are not really defending from the front...

There's 3 kinds of football club imo

    Rich as f**k
Act rich as f**k and pay the price
Know there place and plod on sensibly
I said on here yesterday we all need to settle in for a long stint in the Championship imo. We would be cannon fodder in the Premier league. The rumours or money to spend were clearly just that, rumours. however, give me what we have now over f**kin Fleetwood away any day.

Agreed. Take our time, bring on the young talent we have and sign more in the meantime.

I don't think Dreyfus is in any rush, it seemed like his target was to be in the championship to make the club stable financially and that's what he's all about. Sustainability and gradual growth.

Our recruitment has been good imo.

Various players were declared 'not good enough' ...

... Alese, Cirkin, Clarke amongst them, that changed.

I'm not about to judge the others, or the manager, on the basis of a handful of games especially when we've had half a dozen first team players out.

    I agree with all that.

Bringing in a top manager would entail him wanting top staff and top signings. That's big money spent and no guarantee of success. Mowbray will keep us up, bring on the young talent and hand over when the time is right imo.

Until then I'll enjoy the moments of magic and laugh at clubs like Derby who spent big, shot themselves in the foot then reloaded <laugh>

I think TM will be here a while longer.

However I read that dear old Eeyore admits he made a selection error. Imho that is a good point in his favour.

I agree on one hand, but also think that there are few outstanding teams. Burnley look the top dogs, but then even Sheff Utd, Norwich and co are beatable.
I don't think there is much to fear, but there is a difference between thinking that and doing that.

What I really want to see is this squad grow together with a couple of additions each transfer window and retain the core of the team for a few season

If they finished the season tomorrow I'd be delighted with our current league position.
No thoughts of grandeur from me about play offs etc, anything above 8-12 would be an absolute bonus imo.
