I could see Jones. Luton's overperforming their talent level by playing a ridiculously direct, high-pressing style that is basically my FM setup (and not totally dissimilar to Ranieri's Leicester). Given that we've targeted athletically-gifted players, I wouldn't be surprised if that style appealed to our football ops folks.
Not sure on Jones, he tried to step up from Luton before and was absolutely awful at Stoke. Would be a massive jump for him.
Well according to the group chat I’m in with fans of other teams where I saw he was favourite: “Luton ” “What a **** irrelevant club, may aswell just relegate them now” “WHO “ “Nobody can save them anyway, worst team in the league by a distance” So yeah sounds optimistic
Nathan Jones was randomly mentioned by one of the ITKs on SaintsWeb a while back. I thought it was an odd, random link so I didn't totally disbelieve it
Yeah I must admit it is the sort of name that would never be randomly linked by a journo or agent, does seem to be just about odd enough to be true.
Agreed. We're too deep into the season for this to backfire. If Ralph had left after six games (or even before the season!), his replacement could have had, say, 15 matches and if it didn't work out there would still be almost half a season left. But, now, if you give them 15 games...well you'd be leaving the next guy with next to no chance. And we've got a brilliant run of games straight after the WC, which we need to take advantage.
