It's only "too" late if we get relegated as a result of this start. They gave him a chance with the new regime, rightly so, but he hasn't been able to pick it up.
First two years here were excellent. Second two years have been painful. The odd glimmer of decency but overall just complete dead football and painful capitulations. Sure we can raise our game and get the odd result, but that is inevitably followed by half a dozen woeful performances. I just feel any opposition coach worth his salt has got Ralph's number. They know what to do against him, and he doesn't have the answers any more. It is sad for it to end like this. Feeling bitter today because of the result, but fair play to Ralph. He stopped the rot from Hughes/Pellegrino, and it was fun for a while. But the longer it went on, the less I was liking the man. All the best to him. Looking forward to the next recruitment.
Exclusive; Saints have decided to sack manager Ralph Hasenhuttl. Probably. Soon, or perhaps sooner. Maybe.
It is too late as in my opinion he was done last season. I get why they stuck with him to a point, and im hoping they have the right person now which is why they waited so long. But in reality, it was pretty clear he had lost it last season. Poor from the board, imo.
I don’t like this ‘have decided to sack this week or during the World Cup’ stuff leaking out though. Put the man out of his misery and tell him now.
The good news is on paper, it's a very attractive looking job for a young, ambitious manager from Europe. I think we could get a really, really good replacement in.
Seems a good time to point you back towards Sportato's magnificent appraisal of who could be good to get in now... https://www.sportato.net/post/so-who-s-next-up
You sure, as so many people on here didnt think it was possible for anyone to do a better job than Ralph with the players here? Im genuinely confused now. And as for the stuff from the Athletic, they dont have a clue, literally covering all bases. Ralph absolutely knows what is coming, for him to be quoted after the game and say he didnt know how to change things, he should go for gross misconduct, as that is literally his job to sort out. Why the **** should he even get a pay off for abject failure over a sustained period? That said, I am interested to see who is coming in, and do agree we are an attractive proposition. Not sure about up and coming though, think we will go for slightly more stability.
I'm voting for the Bodo Glimt fella, purely on the name. We need a Knut in charge, he could be the one to turn the tide.
Berucci is so charismatic, and he really loves Southampton, look at all his passion. Cant wait for Seve Berucci to beat Liverpool. Think he may crack one off on the touchline after the final whistle.
