A great survivor? We lost 9-0, not once, but twice, and multiple other thrashings. Apart from the exception to the norm of a couple of purple patches, results and performances whe we are by and large, awful, have been up there with the worst. Not taking away when we were good, we were great, they are just like a grain of sand in the hands of time. Or something.
Think that was the point. Ralph survived and turned it around even after the massive lows he suffered such as the 9-0s
For me, a large part of my frustration is what could have been under Ralph. That high press attacking football. Look at the high points under Ralph - that's the standard we should be aiming for, and that's what makes this run of form so frustrating. It is within this squad, with the right manager and tactics that's where and what we should be aspiring to be. Not this.

Im not sure even about the press, think most teams figured out how to get round it, and Ralph was largely a busted flush. The fact we dont have any sort of identity since he moved away from it, kind of demonstrates this.
He hasn’t. He a good keeper. But then McCarthy just wasn’t as bad as everyone always made out either. Fact is any keeper playing behind a Ralph defence, is gonna be made to look sh*te at times.
He did turn it around on those occassion and survived the sack - that is what Adam was getting at. But as you say, this has gone too far now and no way can he survive this time.
That is true but Bazunu is going to get better with experience and games under his belt. McCarthy is past his peak so is only going to decline in his reaction time etc.
The press works if you are RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, but not if you are Saints in the Prem. Sure, have it in your armory, role it out from time to time, but don’t have it as your Plan A tactic every week.
Conceded 4 today. Will probably concede more than that against Liverpool. His confidence is going to be absolutely knackered before too long.
