Good move to stop the gobby parent syndrome. https://www.thefa.com/news/2022/oct/21/silent-support-weekend-20221021 The mail, express and sun have it as the 'woke' FA. Deliberately missing the point to sensationalise the story.
It’s a good start. Though I think the primary issue is that you can’t start at grassroots with football, it needs to begin at the top and start showing that the treatment of officials from players and managers is unacceptable first, then let it follow down. It was nice to see the FA are appealing Klopp’s fine as it didn’t go far enough, we just need more of it.
That Sheffield United player could teach Salisu a thing or two about taking long throw ins. He’s reaching the back post !
Don’t think the distance is the issue with Salisu, he can’t get any pace or keep them flat that’s the problem. Just floaty high balls of nothingness 99% of the time
This. The one throw that worked at Leicester he threw into ABK's feet at the near post who passed it back to Adams who scored.
Woo! Hampshire's finest non league club does it again, and continue to make history! Train strikes permitting, I'd love to go to the next round tie if its not something crazy like Carlisle or Exeter away
I'd support Farnborough in that instance. They need the money more than Portsmouth and it would mean more. Would be hard to get tickets though. Though we've not had a big weekend game since the new stand was opened. I think all our home play off games have been midweek. Last time we were in the conference south playoffs, we pretty much sold out. The attendence was slightly higher than the stated capacity of the stadium at the time 4000ish, so I imagine we could get more in now. Would be nice to see the prospect road stand full.
I remember going to watch Farnborough away at Arsenal. Was a quality day out. Highbury was buzzing. Hope they make it through the next round as well
Wrexham away. Crap draw. Not a league team, not a lower league team and not at home and not local to me.
Winnable game for the blue few though and sadly against the only team in the pyramid I don't want them to lose to.
Oh, so now you acknowledge awarding Qatar the World Cup was a mistake? **** off back to the hole you came from you corrupt piece of ****. World Cup 2022: Awarding Qatar the tournament was a mistake, says former Fifa president Sepp Blatter - BBC Sport
I think that a lot of people in Qatar are trying to make this competition work and a lot of effort has gone in to staging the competition. I totally understand the disappointment of a winter World Cup and the fact that it is in a country without a football tradition. The moral issues are contrary to Western values but I feel that Islamic values are not really of interest to the western press. If anything, the British press give this matter very bad publicity and always negative. I think there are issues beyond LGBT ones which have not been discussed. The coverage is a bit one sided and should be more objective. People are correct to criticise yet most people in Qatar are just interested in the sport. There is no other agenda. I think that Qatar will be changed by this competition and maybe that will be a good thing to come out of it - in addition to the stadia which are to be dismantled and sent to Africa afterwards.
